I'm not, nor have I ever been. I don't intend to start either. I've smoked cigarettes before, but not enough to consider it a habit.
What about you? Do you smoke? Did you used to?

Nope nope nope...I have had puffs in smoky bars after drinking but never found it appealing! Same with hookah, I just don't see the appeal.

Ex smoker here! Picked it up during serving days in college...21? 22? Really late...quit before starting our ttc journey @ 28 and haven't looked back!

I've never tried a cigarette but I tried a cigar once and hated it. I've never had any desire to try cigarettes even though both of my parents and my brother smoke.

@mrsjyw: That's great! My dad is currently trying to quit, he's been smoking at least since I've been born I believe and probably longer (I'm almost 25).

High School through age 20. I thought I was so badass until I realized it's actually just really gross.

@mrsjyw: I'm not sure how close my dad is but he's using those electronic cigarettes to cut down gradually.
DH had started to pick up cigar smoking but he lost interest recently and I'm glad he doesn't do it too often because of LO. One every so often is fine but I didn't want it to become too much of a habit for him.

I smoked in college, but was never addicted - it was more of a social thing. I could pick it up and put it down without a problem. I stopped about 5 years ago and never looked back.

I tried it but never got hooked. I'm glad I didn't!

I've never touched cigarettes. My dad has been trying to quit for as long as I can remember. I also lost my grandfather and aunt to lung cancer in my teens. In fact, my aunt defeated breast cancer only to die from lung cancer a few years later. My grandfather quit years before developing lung cancer, but still ended up having it. My grandmother also had a stroke which her doctors attributed partially to her smoking. All of that happened in my teens and early 20's, making smoking seem like a stupid decision.

Never! I've never even been tempted to try one. With all the health risks associated with smoking, I honestly don't understand how anyone from our generation got started in the first place. I'm always surprised when I run into people my age (or younger) who smoke!

I was but I quit almost 1 month ago! I still crave them like CRAZY but I'm holding strong. So is DH we both quit at the same time!

I did, for several years in my late teens through my mid-20s. I started because an ex-boyfriend told me it made me look hot (yeah yeah, I know...). DH gave me an ultimatum--said he couldn't be married to a smoker.

@MrsBrewer: Congrats on quitting! It's tough, but it gets better!

A couple of times in high school I tried to smoke an entire cigarette and just let it burn through without taking more than 2 puffs and hoping nobody would notice. I tried, but it made me want to barf.

@MrsBrewer: congrats!! You can do it!!!! I was in your shoes a year ago!

@mrsjyw: I started even later than you, 25! I quit at 29 because I had promised myself that I would stop before I turned 30. I bout Allan Carr's 'The Easy Way to Stop Smoking' and I have never looked back or touched a ciggie since. That was 3.5 years ago, I never even miss or give it much thought.
@MrsBrewer: Congratulations! The first month is the hardest so you are well over the hump now and it will be easy from now on. Well done.

Yep. I smoked for about 10 years on and off -- I finally quit for good in 2009.

@plantains: @mrsjyw: @FutureMrsMcK: Thanks!!!
It really is the hardest at the 1 month part. But I feel soooo much better!! Plus that was on my "to-do" list before we TTC! One down only a couple more now!!

I was. I picked it up when I was in the US Navy, when I was deployed. Told myself when I got back home I wouldnt continue to. But of course I did.
I quit in 2011
@MrsBrewer: GOOD WORK!!! So much easier when your partner quits with you. Mine did and then jumped back on. My saving grace was getting pregnant so I could NOT fall into temptation. Not going to lie...I still totally crave them. They smell and sounds SO GROSE to me...but I still want one.

I was a smoker for almost 10 years. I quit cold turkey when we decided to start TTC. I have to admit that I still crave it every now and then but I will never go back. Terrible habit.
