This is a good article about how a busy mom tried to multi-task and almost killed her child

So scary. The digital age in general scares me.

oh wow. i agree with her thoughts about how most of us feel pressure to do as much as possible in a short amount of time--this idea of maximum efficiency definitely has its pitfalls (and possibly worse consequences!).

Wow. I've tried so hard in the evening when I'm home yo leave my phone in my purse. Nothing is more important than my boys. *sigh :-(I thank God that this worked out for her.

I appreciate her honesty. I think it's something that we are all subject to doing, if we are really honest with each other here. For me, it's not emailing but maybe picking something up in the bathroom and bringing it where it belongs.
It is a good reminder that it can all wait.

So scary!!! But I totally see how something like this can happen! It's such a good reminder to us to be PRESENT when we're with our children, especially when they are in a potentially dangerous situation like the tub! I'm so relieved that her daughter is okay!!

OMG!! How frightening!!
DH is totally attached to his iphone and it really does worry me. I know the hubby would take awesome care of DS, but I've seen him hold DS and pay more attention to the phone than interacting with DS.

Oh what en eye opener and a good reminder for all of us to slow down and be fully present in these moments with our kids, loved ones, and even ourselves. Thanks for sharing.
