i.e. Facebook, Instagram, Twitter?
I was just thinking about this for some reason, although it is certainly a ways off for us yet.
Any parents of older LOs encounter them wanting them yet?

Hopefully, it will all die out and seem old school. I'd rather them use video chats or FaceTime so I can see who they are talking to and they're actually talking.
I don't know yet but my nieces and nephew had FB ever since they were 10ish. The requirement was to hand over their password though. And they are all over Instagram so I hate that I can't vent about them anywhere! (Except HelloBee)

@Kimberlybee: that's really what I hope too! Hopefully they'll associate social media and oversharing with their parents' generation and not have any interest.

@Kimberlybee: YES! this is what I'm hoping, too. Even now, the younger generation is starting to get rid of Facebook accounts because mom, dad, aunts & uncles, even grandma is on it. Not so cool anymore.

High school. I wonder what social media will be like then.

@HabesBabe: @MoonMoon: Yes! My nieces and nephews have FB but just to look at family pictures. They never post anything now and said it's for OLD people. LOL I wonder if there is a secret under the radar social site we don't know about? Did y'all ever a MySpace account? That was so fun but has gone with the wind.

High school I think. There will definitely be restrictions though.

@Kimberlybee: Um, I had MySpace AND Friendster before that. Yikeessss... I think the thing now are those texts/pics that self-delete after a few seconds, or there's an anonymous group chat app, too.

My 12 year old has been asking for an Instagram account for about a year - apparently ALL of his friends have one. Not happening anytime soon.

We haven't discussed it, but if I had to say today....probably 13, as long as we have the username/passwords until maybe age 16. Assuming that she is on top of her responsibilities. And we will continue to limit screen time until she's out of our house.

I'm afraid to answer bc who knows that the social media landscape will look like 10+ years from now!
ETA: I know two parents who have FB accounts for their kids and update on behalf of them!

Ugh...never? I keep hoping social media will die down before she's old enough to want to use it, but I know that's probably wishful thinking.
