We live in a town with free public Prek3 and Prek4. If LO gets into one of the locations that's closer to home, she'll go at just 3 years, 2 months old. It's a full day from 8-2:45, but she'll also go to before care and after care, so she'll be there from 7:30 am-4:15 pm or so.

Pretty much the same as daycare hours--I know they still have naps at Pre-k 3, not sure about pre-k4.

LO has to go to a special preschool that I'm pretty sure is a full day, 5 day a week program due to the intense programming they do. So he'll be 3 years 3 months when he starts full time. I'm not thrilled about this school being an hour from our home and making the choice between driving him and putting him on the bus at 3 years old! We might go 2 days a week at 2 years old for a toddler program to get him used to it.

The kindergarten cutoff in my area is September 1, and my LO's birthday is September 3, so he'll be going when he is just about 6 years old. It's full-day kindergarten. I'm not sure if we'll do preschool or just daycare before that - if we keep with a nanny long-term, then he'll probably do preschool starting around 3 or 4 years old.

A was born at the end of December but will be attending private school so I'm hoping she can get into K at 4yr9mo.

Kindergarden starts at 4 here, and goes all day. It use to go half day until a few years ago. Saves you money on daycare!

She'll start private preschool 2 mornings a week when she's just past 3, and universal public pre-k five full days a week just past four, unless we can't get a seat, in which case we will have to go private. To prep for preK, I'll probably send her either 3 full days or 5 mornings to her private preschool's summer camp. We will see what the teacher recommends to help with the transition.

C is starting full-time preschool in August, at 3 years and 4 months old. I think it's still fairly play-based, so Im not sure where it would fall on the scale. Her birthday is in April, so she'll be on the younger end of the scale as well.

She will start kindergarten at 5.

My daughter and son both started at age 2. My daughter attends 4 hours, 5 days a week and my son 5 hours, 5 days a week. Both are delighted and LOOOOOOVE school. It has been 100% positive for us.

DD will be 5 years 8 months when she starts Kindergarten, and DS will be 5 years 7 months.

But Kindergarten will actually be less hours for them since I'm a WOHM/WAHM, so their daycare/preschool has them there for 8-9 hour very full days, and they'll only be in kindergarten for 3.5-4 hours.
