@abbydabbydoodlebug: That sounds promising! I got as close to a positive as I've gotten about 2 days after getting the first shadow this time (although I still never got a positive with the Clinical Guard ones). My temps so far have suggested that the "almost positive" was probably a real positive. I sure hope so - for both of us!

I am super nauseous this morning, gagging like I did when I was pregnant with my DD. I still think it's too early to test, which is what's making this even weirder. Maybe I have some sort of stomach bug.

Anyone feel less and less optimistic as test day approaches? I felt pretty good last week but yesterday and today (8 dpo) feeling pretty much out, even though nothing has changed! Sigh.
nectarine / 2317 posts
@Revel: yup I always feel like that. Sometimes those feelings change within the same day. I can be convinced i'm pregnant and not pregnant multiple times a day. I think it's a managing expectations thing for me at least.

@Banana330: yeah, I think that's it. I have a lot to feel good about from this cycle even if it's a BFN, but right now i don't want the consolation prize!
Your symptoms are very interesting! It's probably great/frustrating to compare to prior pregnancies. I keep trying to remember how I felt with LO 1 but we were not trying then so I've never been sure if i felt symptoms before I would have gotten a positive test.

I feel out, mainly because my cramps are so similar to my typical luteal phase cramps. Plus I feel fine, no weird smells or nausea. I'm going to see if I get a temp drop on Friday, when AF is due. So far they are remaining steady. I won't test, getting BFNs is too disheartening.

I remember last time we were TTC the month I had all the symptoms in the world was a BFN, and the month I was convinced I was out was a BFP.

@revel: I do the same thing, and I've yet to get pregnant. So obviously every time my "intuition" or whatever it is is totally wrong.
On the symptoms tip, on Saturday I got really, really sad and weepy about the refugee Olympic team. I watched a 15-second video of them in the opening ceremonies and by the end I was full-on crying (and also laughing at myself for crying). I seriously could not help myself and had to go to my husband to be comforted. He just looked at me like I was crazy. I don't know if that could be an ovulation symptom? Temps have yet to go up but should tomorrow or the next day. It definitely was out of the ordinary and I attributed it to hormones as there weren't any other factors, like being short on sleep or hungry or emotional for other reasons.

I tested at 8dpo last night with a super sensitive 10miu test and got the faintest of faint positives! My husband swears he couldn't see anything there but I retested this morning at 9dpo with another 10miu (the blue one) and a regular 25miu wondfo and you can definately see a line on both this morning! I only tested so early because with my first pregnancy I also got a faint positive at 8dpo with the10miu tests.

@MissLace: I see it for sure! Congrats!! What brand are those 10miu ones?

@peachykeen: they're the SurePredict brand. I get a 20 pack on Amazon for $12!

@MissLace: Thanks for the link! I love how clear/unquestionable the line is but then again... I probably don't need any more encouragement to test too early... ha.

Just got a positive opk on cd 18! We won't be able to BD until tomorrow night, but we hit CD 16, and CD 17.

@Revel: I am completely feeling negative now for no real reason. Last week I was 100% sure I was pregnant. Now I'm like meh, never going to happen! Sighhh. I've convinced myself I didn't even ovulate (I have no reason to think that is the case.) Negative Nancy over here! blah!

@psw27: haha, totally! This is my first month charting and it looks legit with a good confirmed O, but of course I'm convinced I'm doing it wrong.

@Revel: TWW is so hard! I feel like I'm losing my mind. I don't even know when to POAS, I might not even do it now since I'm convinced there is no point.

@Revel: @psw27: I feel you. this morning I was convinced and talked myself in to POAS tomorrow and now.. unconvinced and thinking I should wait! Totally messes with your head

@psw27: @Revel: I totally hear you on the negativity - I let myself get down the past 2 months and I'm determined to do better this time around (I'm only 2dpo so it's still way too early for anything).
I started charting this month but ended up getting LO's hand, foot, & mouth disease a week ago so all my early temps are either missing or totally meaningless. Luckily DH has noticed my negativity now and seems like he's actively trying to encourage.
I'm sure all this will go out the window if I'm not feeling symptoms in another week though. Hang in there!

@peachykeen: Oh gosh, HFM is the absolute worst! I caught it when LO had it too and I was miserableeeeee. You're right though, I shouldn't have a crappy attitude - this is our first month so I'm really being ridiculous. Sucking it up and being positive, starting now!!

Oh my gosh guys. I tested with a cheapie on a whim because I've been taking opk just to see if they turn positive to test the opk for pregnancy test theory. I got a nearly positive opk and decided to dip the hpt strip and this is what I got.
Opk on top
Hpt on bottom.
