I went for my first beta today and will go again on Monday. I got a clear positive this morning, so I'm trying to stay optimistic but the pessimist in me just sees this ending badly.

@AmeliaBedilia: I'm so sorry
@sslm: I hope you get some great beta results! Stay positive! Do you have to wait all weekend for the results? I remember having Friday betas drawn before and having to wait. It's the worst. Try to keep your mind off things and stay positive!
AFM I ended up O'ing about 5 days early this month which caught me totally off guard. We didn't end up hitting the days leading up so only got O day. What a bummer. I wish my body was more consistent. However, I'll have another chance to POAS this month so @Lovehope: can you put me down for Aug 31?

@sslm: stay positive!
@delight: my body is totally consistent, and while it's nice for logistics reasons, it drives me crazy because I feel like with a perfect, consistent cycle, great bloodwork, clear hsg, etc there's no reason why I shouldn't have conceived at least once by now (a year in and not one bfp).
Afm, I'm pretty sure AF will be here by tonight or the morning at the latest. Right on schedule. I'm really bummed because I thought we had everything perfect this month. And now I'm afraid to take Clomid again without monitoring because if it's not working I'd rather move on to something else. So frustrating!

@delight: I do have to wait but I figure the first one doesn't matter too much anyway. I'm more interested in the increase on Monday
@2farmmoms: thanks, trying my best!!
pomelo / 5326 posts
@2farmmoms: I guess consistent or not we are all here for a reason. This whole process is frustrating. I really hope AF stays away from you!
@sslm: I pray for great doubling betas for you!

Well, I'm out. AF arrived like clock work this morning. I'm so frustrated and stressed out about the possibility of IUI not working. I have no idea how we could possibly afford ivf or adoption. I'm afraid this just isn't going to work and I really wish I had a doctor who was willing to help. I just feel so lost up here with no resources. I don't even know how I would do monitoring. I think the closest place that would do it is 5 hours away. Argh!

@2farmmoms: I'm so sorry do you have any hospitals or clinics by you? My re is over 2 hours away, but I do most of my monitoring at a local clinic (unless if it falls on a weekend). Hugs..
blogger / pear / 1509 posts
@NorthStar: hmm that's a good idea. We do have a couple hospitals nearby. I didn't know the monitoring could be done outside of an REs office. I'll look into that if we decide to pursue further diagnostics/treatment.

@sslm: FX-ed for more great news! Wishing you calm nerves until then!
@2farmmoms: So, so, so sorry! How frustrating. I can understand the fear of it never working -- I have been there, too. I also wish you could be under the care of an amazing RE who will bend over backwards for you. You deserve it! Like Northstar, my RE is 2 hours away and works with a local doctor for monitoring. In just my online reading about our particular situation, I have come across more and more RE's who are set up for out-of-town patients. I really hope you can get some answers since it sounds like you have been doing everything right.

@2farmmoms: it's worth checking on. I just work with my local ob office. Luckily, I have two to choose from because the initial one I used was frustrating as it was always hard to get in for ultrasounds. The one I'm currently with has three appointments/ultrasound openings every week day for follicle measurements. So much easier..it's worth asking your re if they do outside monitoring with any clinics in your area. Good luck!!!

@2farmmoms: was this your first month on clomid? What was your dosage?
blogger / pear / 1509 posts
@Crystal: second month on Clomid. I did 50 mg days 3-7 the first month and 100mg days 4-8 this past cycle. I only switched days because I forgot to take it on day 3.

@2farmmoms: and you ovulate on your own, right? Did the dr say how long he'd give you on the clomid? Have you tried femara?

CD3 here. I have an appointment tomorrow for an ultrasound, beta (which will be negative- boo!) and likely a recheck of my prolactin and thyroid. I'm nervous about the antral follicle count- last cycle was 10. I don't expect any changes to the plan from last cycle, since I had two follicles and a great progesterone. Hopefully he thinks we're on the right track and it just needs a little more time. I really hate all these appointments. While I'm glad I don't have to miss work, it stinks to have to get up so early to go somewhere I dread.

@AmeliaBedilia: I totally understand, friend, and I'm so sorry you are still fighting your way through this.

@AmeliaBedilia: This is not easy. It will happen for... It's just taking a bit longer. Don't lose hope. Hugs to you.

@LoveHope: oh I forgot I am the only one left this month. I'll just go September 1 so we can stop this thread and get a September one going.

@2farmmoms: I'm sorry friend. This is all such a heartache. Keep thinking positively though.

I have my second beta today!! I feel sick from the nerves. I keep flip flopping between being optimistic and pessimistic. Every time I feel optimistic I immediately feel as though I am jinxing it... ugh. Just need some good numbers so I can relax for a little bit!!

@sslm: Lots of luck to you today! Keep positive!
Anyone want to host September? I don't mind doing it but wanted to give others a chance

@sslm: Praying for a good number!
@LoveHope: I'm fine either way.
The appointment went well. He said I had a god response so we repeat the same plan. No cysts, and total of 15-16 follicles, up from ten last time. I'm wondering if the cyst last month obscured it? He said the femara can have some residual effect, but I've been on it, just last month was a higher dose. I start femara tomorrow, ultrasound 9/1 with IUI probably 9/4. The nurse who did my beta said that the second and third IUis seem to work more often than the first. So a good appointment.

@sslm: sending lots of positive vibes your way!
@AmeliaBedilia: I'm glad your appointment went well. Hope September is your month

@AmeliaBedilia: That's what I've heard too. It makes sense. Our bodies need time to adjust to the meds.

@AmeliaBedilia: I'm so glad it went well and your IUI will be here before you know it!

DH has had his eye on these ergonomically correct Amish wood rocking chairs. I found someone selling one for a great deal on Facebook. I'm getting it tonight, but hadn't decided where to put it in the new house. Now I'm thinking it might be a great nursery chair. Hope it all works out, plus wood is probably better than fabric for that purpose.

@ms.line: I have an appointment in an hour! Really hoping she has the results.
I took another test this morning because I'm a POAS addict. It was darker but then I started worrying it wasn't dark enough... UGH. Put me out of my misery please!!
pear / 1770 posts
@sslm: I never realized how spoiled I was by my RE's onsite lab and web portal (I could see my results for everything within an hour or two). Must be so nerve-wracking for you, but if your line is getting darker, that's a great sign!

@sslm: Put away the sticks! Distract yourself the best that you can.

@sslm: Oh no... what did they say? Are they going to test you again tomorrow?

@sslm: oh no..that was over 2 days, right? I'm sending as many good thoughts as I can..

Well, my 24 DPO beta came back at 4191, which is right on target. Progesterone is only 14 though, after supplementing every day for weeks. Doc is having me come in for a sonogram today, even though I'm only 5w5d. Fingers crossed.
I know I'm a relative newbie to this crew, as I only started really posting this month. Previous months, I was too scared to get my hopes up, but with the injectables this month, I thought I might actually have a shot. Thanks, ladies, for being so welcoming.
