@Torchwood: hope all is ok. I would test again in a day and see what happens. Do you know what they are doing Monday?

When does everyone start POAS? Do you wait til a specific DPO? Or wait for a specific day (the weekend?)? Wait til AF is late? I tested last cycle at 10dpo. I think that's what I'll do this month also! Curious to see what everyone here does!

@Littlebit: I have no issues with seeing BFNs so I start testing 8 DPO, absolute earliest I can get positive, every day until AF... I have wondfo's tho.

I really try for 14DPO I will test day AF is due! I think if I did any earlier I'd go crazy but I think after my IUI in a few weeks I'll want to POAS everyday

Last time I ttc'd I think I started testing at 10dpo with Wondfo and 13 or 14 dpo with FRER. Since I'm nursing this time, I expect my LP will be short and don't have high expectations of a bfp so I'll probably wait at least until 12 dpo. I did get a positive on Wondfo at 10dpo last time so if I thought there was a good possibility I might test that early again.

@Littlebit: I wait until AF is due at least. I do this for 2 reasons:
- I would rather just get AF than see multiple BFNs.
- I don't want to test really early to avoid detecting what could be a chemical pregnancy.

@littlebit: i read this very helpful article yesterday on fertility friend about when you can expect a positive HPT
http://www.fertilityfriend.com/Faqs/When-can-I-expect-a-positive-HPT-if-I-am-pregnant.html
they did a big study of 93,184 of their recent charts and found that the average dpo for the first positive pregnancy test was 13.6
also said that the avrage dpo for the first "false" negative test was 10.3
and the percentage of pregnancy charts with a positive test at 10dpo was only 10%!
very helpful!

morning bees! i have a charting Q.
i normally take my temp at 7am with about 7-8hrs sleep. i did that this morning and it was 2 tenths lower than it had been (97.8). however i drove back from a wedding last night and didnt fall asleep til 2am or later.
i went back to bed and also took my temp at 9am after my normal 7-8hrs sleep and it was 98.2.
so what do i use for my temp today??

@Littlebit: I start stupid early. I don't mind bfn's, either. I don't even know what day I started POAS with this pregnancy, but I know it was too early.

@T.H.O.U.: Thank you! Yes! April 25th, according to FF. I'll join ya over on the April 2014 board soon!

@happygal: @sweetiepie: thanks! i was just curious if it mattered more that you take it at the exact same time of day or if you take it after the exact same hours of sleep.
i'll go with first temp tho

@buttermilk: From what I understand, time of day is most important, as long as you get a minimum of 3 hours of sleep prior. That is what I've read but I'm by no means an expert!
persimmon / 1388 posts
@Littlebit: I usually like to start testing @ 10 or 11dpo (my LP has been around 11 days the past couple of cycles). Although, sometimes I sneak in a test around 8dpo, lol

@T.H.O.U.:I said when I made th appointment that I wanted a blood test for confirmation. I'll be asking for the 48 hour test and to check progesterone levels. I dislike my doctor a lot (didn't bother finding one because of the move), so going in planning to put my foot down if she refuses.
Quick update. Took an opk late yesterday and was almost as dark as the control, far darker than any since I O'd. Took another wondfo hpt today, and it was faint but dark enough that if it had been the first I took I would have had no doubts I was pregnant. It's darker than any previous wandfo.
At this point I know I'm pregnant, and I'm feeling better about chemical since they're steadily darkening. Thanks for all the positive encouragement!!!

@Torchwood: cool! Now, step away from the HPT. You are going to drive yourself crazy.

@sweetkeight: so exciting!!! Congrats lady! How many DPO are you?
All these BFPs make me want test day to get here quick!!!

@sweetkeight: hooray! big congrats to you
@torchwood: i agree with littlek, stop testing! you're preggers!

@runnerd: here's the rub, I'm only 9dpo. I'm nervous as hell about chemical or ectopic. However, I'm trying to see it as a positive that there's a line this early - with my MC, I didn't see a positive til 14 dpo and that was the most squinty line imaginable.
grapefruit / 4311 posts
@sweetkeight: oh I def don't think you should be worried about chemical just cause its early!

I had to laugh this afternoon...I'm almost at O day and showed DH my digital OPK and said "so, warning, when there's a happy face, which is sometime in the next two days, that means a lot of baby dancing" and he totally burst out laughing and told me no fun tonight because he doesn't want to waste his soldiers lol. Almost back into the TWW for POAS early Sept

@boopers, @ellewoods84, @mrs. 64, @littlek, @doxielove, @runnerd, @buttermilk, @pui, @honeygold89, @peapie: Thank you so much!
@runnerd: Thanks, I'm giving in to the hope that this one is going to stick. And be a girl
ETA: I just went back to look at the test again and now the line is even prettier. I'm still in shock. DH keeps saying "Are you looking at the peestick again?" and when I say "I can't help it!" He responds "I'm sure there are some branches in the yard I could pee on and bring in the house! We could create a shrine to peesticks!" to him.
