Mine don't like shoulder burps and we did the knee burps where you sit them in your knee, use your hand to support their chin and pat their back. They are 4.5 months now and now they hardly ever burp.

True story: she pretty much only burps if it also involves spitting up in her dad's beard. Much to my amusement...

@Finfan: As Facebook reminded me in a #tbt, my LO took it as a great opportunity to pass out cold in the middle of me trying to burp him.

Neither of my kids really burped or spit up. My mom kept harping on me as a FTM to burp her and I kept telling her she didn't need to! Finally she realized but coming from dealing with me as a colicky baby it was so different from her.

My DS hardly used to burp, but he really needed too! He was a constant spitter. The burps I did get were usually followed by a flow of spitup.

I never had to burp either of my kids. They weren't spit uppers though. They just didn't seem to need it!

@coopsmama: I recently gave away SO many burp cloths and bibs. We just never used them! Hoping I don't jinx myself.
