LO is 4 months old, and she does this thing where she will fake cough when we turn around to leave the room. I'm convinced it is fake because if I turn around to check on her, she busts out laughing. Annoying, but adorable. Where do they learn these things???

My baby totally went through a fake cough stage around then, maybe a little older. It lasted a couple of months--but I think she figured out the sound and then noticed that we would rush to her if she coughed (thinking she'd picked up something and put it in her mouth and was choking, etc.)

Yes. If we aren't paying attention or she wants something, she'll fake cough and say she's sick. She can even do it on demand.
I don't know where they learn this stuff. I swear they come hard wired with built in manipulation and guilt trips.
ETA: now that she can talk, she verbalized that she's unhappy daddy is going to work. She'll tell out the window "but I'm your chloeeee! Don't you love me?! Don't go to work daddy!"

Haha! I remember the fake cough...she still does it now occasionally! Mostly she just whines or crawls over and clings on us if she wants attention now!

R still does this at 13 months because my parents thought it was funny to say "baby sick! Call the doctor!" every time she coughed....after warning me not to do that because they did it as a joke when I was little. Thanks, ma and pa.

Oh yeah! The fake cough waa a favorite trick of LO's back then too! Now that she's older she'll fake fall and touch her butt saying 'ouch! Oww! Butt!' Haha.

So funny that they know how to do this! We joke that she takes after her puppy. Our dog has mastered the art of asking to go out by sitting and looking uncomfortable by the door. Once we are outside, she will fake pee and then run around (the real reason that she wants to go out). Silly girls
