Hmmm... it does seem a bit girly. Is there any way to use plain black tights instead of the polka dot ones?
ETA: I really hope that's what you were asking and that I didn't just put my foot in my mouth...

I probably wouldn't...I think the polka dot legs make it girly to me!
This is the costume I got for DS...

@jh524: LOL Yeah, that costume was intended for a girl. I would do it without the tights. Any baby is cute dressed up as anything in my opinion!
A good friend of mine's son was a black cat his first two Halloweens. It was because they had a black cat. So he wasn't dressing up as a generic black cat, he was THEIR cat. It was cute
My son is 6 months and he will be superman. The costume is a bib with a cape attached and matching socks. We'll put dark blue clothes underneath.

@swurlygurl: that's what I was thinking. and that's a great idea!! If I keep it, black pants would look much better, more boy-ish. Those tights are very cute ....for a girl.

DH wouldn't let me with the polka dot tights. But elsewise, I would
We put DS in a tiger costume from Carter's this year, and just found out my BFF bought it for her DD, looks more masculine, but it's still freaking adorable!
I think at this age, it's all pretty gender neutral aside from colors/patterns that you can choose to not use!

@petunia354: that owl costume is adorable and it looks nice and warm.
@cmomma17: that's what I thought. I googled it and found it at macys under girl costumes except Costco had it near the boy section.

I think that cat costume would be adorable on a little boy with black pants instead! DS is going to be a dinosaur and DD will be Aurora.

Yeah I would do black pants instead of the tights for a boy

I'd put my son in that (with the tights too. They're cute). I think its adorable!
My boys are being Batman and Robin.

I agree with swapping out the polka dot tights!
DS will be a lion!

Yeah, the polka dots are definitely a little girly, but without those I think it works for a boy!
D is going to be Rocky - grey sweatpants, grey hoodie, black converse, and a black beanie hat.

black pants and maybe a black onesie would definitely make this more boy-ish!

I think loose black cotton pants would definitely make it boy appropriate!

Agreed, loose the tights, and it would be a nice costume for a little boy.
We are doing a family costume, and sewing them, ourselves. DD will be Little Red Riding Hood, I'm the wolf, and DH is the woodsman.

I would still let him wear it, but I'm sure DH wouldn't allow it.
My little guy will be this...

My little guy was a pumpkin last year! This year I was lazier/cheap and he will be wearing skeleton jammies!

@Adira: I'll take a picture of the package tonight and wall you with it to see if we do or not! I still wanna swap pictures regardless though.

@deerylou: awe, your pictures will be so cute! I wish I knew how to sew.
@Mamaof2: great idea, now I just need to find a black shirt!
@lovehoneybee, @shinymama, @Alivoo01: cute costumes! I can't wait to dress up my lil guy!!!
