Curious on people's view of this article: http://www.huffingtonpost.com/dad-on-the-run/to-the-person-who-left-my-sister-this-judgmental-letter_b_4890969.html
What's interesting I think is that the comments on huffpo are largely supportive of the parents, whereas if you follow the link to the original blog post they are largely supportive of the original note-writer.
Honestly I can sort of see both sides here. If I was at a ski resort (aka vacation destination where I wouldn't expect there to be much to do with a baby) as opposed to a beach resort or some hotel along the highway where people would stop while traveling-- I'd be pretty surprised by a screaming kid in the middle of the night. And considering that ski trips are pretty expensive (I think? Never been on one) I'd probably be annoyed that I'm being kept up all night because of a screaming child that wasn't mine. I'm curious if the note-writer asked the hotel to switch rooms-- which would've been my first move!
At the same time once you hear the explanation that the parents were there for a conference (not a vacation) it makes a little more sense that the baby is there, particularly if she is normally a good sleeper. So it's hard for me to say it was irresponsible of them to take her. Although it does seem like in retrospect getting a cabin so they'd not be surrounded with people might've been the better call.
Over all it seems like sort of a really bad no-win situation. Definitely sucks for the note-writers and they have a right to be upset, but it doesn't seem like the parents were terribly inconsiderate either, just bad luck for unexpected teething I guess.
Thoughts?
