If your baby's eyes changed colors, how old were they when it happened? Was it a permanent change? What color were they originally? What color are they now?

I'm wondering this too. My mom and I had this conversation earlier and couldn't remember when. I'm hoping M will get some green!

@Dandelion: love green eyes! We would love for the baby blues to stick around. Right now, they also sometimes look gray, which is equally gorgeous!

They were a deep dark blue when he was born and started to get lighter and lighter around 2.5/3m. They are now a light blue/gray color.
(ETA: He is 13m now)

Also wondering about this! Los eyes are blue now and in hope they stay. That way, like dh's. Mine are brown

@Pumuckl: This was the same for both of my babies. They were both born with dark navy blue eyes and they got much lighter by about 8 weeks. DS is 3 and his eyes are a lovely blue-grey color and DD is 5 months and hers have become a brighter blue.
@nana87: I have brown eyes (I'm half Chinese) and both of my LOs have blue/blue-grey eyes! I guess I passed on my mom's recessive blues both times.

I'm wondering this too! T has dark navy eyes but recently they've started getting lighter and grayer. I have gray green eyes and his dad has brownish green eyes. I read (and I don't know how true this is) that if both parents have green eyes then there's only a 1% chance the baby will have blue. So I think they'll change...just wandering when!

@Pumuckl: Same!
DS was born with deep deep blue eyes and around 2m they started to lighten up. They're now blue-gray just like mine (he's 15m)

Mine changed from blue to hazel at three years. My sisters went from blue to green at fifteen.
DD has blues but I'm not getting to attached.

DD was born with medium blue, and they're getting more blue (11.5 months), but I know mine went from blue to brown at two years.

We knew DD would have light eyes (DH's are blue, mine are bluish green, and no one in either of our families has brown eyes). She was born with those dark blue-grey baby eyes and they gradually lightened starting at about 3 months. By 5 mo, she had my husband's bright blue eyes - and still does at 15 months.

This calculator really helps . . . my DH and I would only ever have blue- or green-eyed children.

He was born with very dark blue eyes, and by 15 months or so they've lightened a bit, and are now green in the centers. My husband has green eyes and I have bright blue eyes, so it'll be interesting if they remain a mix of the two.

D was born with very dark blue eyes and over time they've lightened. He's close to 6 months now and they're several shades darker than my light blue eyes.

M was born with dark, murky blue eyes that started to lighten pretty quickly. They're a pretty light blue now at 17 mo. I have brown eyes and my husband blue.

I think I heard that green is the last color to develop (takes the longest?) I would love LO to have green eyes but I'm 99.9% sure that won't happen Her eyes started DARK blue and now are a beautiful lighter blue leaning grey a little at almost 7 months (exactly like mine.)

DS was born with medium blue eyes. They've gotten a bit lighter as he's gotten older and now at 6 months they seem to have a bit of yellow around the pupil. Not sure if they will stay like that or still change. I have brown eyes (but most of my family have blue eyes) and my husband has green eyes.

Both have started blue, but #1 went green by 6 months and still is at almost 2 1/2. #2 is still too early to tell... according to the calculator we have a 66% brown, 23% green, and 10% blue phenotypes
@MsLipGloss: awesome calculator, I love genetics!

DD had navy blue eyes at birth. They've lightened up considerably and are now grey-blue around the outer edge with light brown flecks around the pupil. DD has brown eyes and mine are hazel (but were more brown when I was a kid -- I'm not exactly sure when they changed but it was during my high school years). It will be interesting to see how DD's continue to change!

They started off dark blue but around 7 months really started changing. It's now 8 months and they are now a browny greeny blue. I imagine they will be brown like her father's in the end.
