My 10 month old LO is a decent sleeper ( thank you sleep gods!) and usually sleeps 7 pm until 6 am without any issues. However recently he wakes up every now and again crying, sitting up in the corner of his crib 
does anyone have any experience of this? I am just wondering why he wakes up sitting up and if it could be attributed to baby nightmares or something like that?
He is usually good at self soothing but he may be teething at the moment. I guess I am just worried that something is wrong when he bolts upright crying

Is he learning a new skill like cruising? That can make their sleep more interrupted because their little brains are learning and growing.

@MamaMoose: perhaps that's it, he's not really cruising or anything yet but I guess moving about more and becoming much more aware and interactive. These wake ups sit ups are just a bit unnerving!

No advice as I thought this was normal once they learned to sit up! My non sleeping LO does it at every wake up

My LO used to do that, I think it's just a stage, she seemed to outgrow it within a couple weeks or so.

Thanks for the replies ladies! I may have been over thinking it, it just felt weird that he was sitting and sleeping at the same time.
