I didn't try it for long time but some bees said they did it right away!

I wore Liv out of the hospital in a ring sling. The key is to wear the baby in a wrap or sling until the incision is more healed. These sit higher up (on the chest) with no pressure on the lower belly like the Ergo.

the earliest I remember was about 2 weeks after, in a moby wrap. I do not recall have any discomfort and actually really enjoying it. I loved the moby! (hated putting it on out in public though, trying to make sure the fabric didn't touch the ground while wrapping)

4 weeks in a moby ... I think it was high enough and LO was tiny enough that it didn't bother me at all

I tried at 2 weeks with the Ergo. At first I thought it was ok because I was comfortable and it didn't hurt but it made the lochia much worse so I think it wasn't a good idea.

I wore her out of the hospital in like a baby bjorn sort of thing. Not terribly comfy. I didn't wear it long though. It was discharged on the 6th day. I tried a sling probably around 2 months. That wasn't too bad.

I wore DS in a ring sling when he was around 2-3 weeks old. I agree with @LivsMama. It seems to be better than other carriers because baby is higher up.
