I have a solly and could never feel comfortable tying it. Do you have a local store or group you can try a few and get instructions on?

I used a baby k'tan with my son in the first few weeks and it is easy because there is no tying. I needed easy! My son was a big baby so we moved into a Lillebaby quickly but the k'tan was great for the early days.

I had a k'tan with LO#1 and hated it - I felt like it ran huge and it was constantly sliding off my shoulders. I have a solly wrap now for LO#2 and it's really easy to use - I highly recommend. We also have a beco Gemini which my husband has used and loved with both kids.

@Mrs. Pickle: Curious about the lilebaby - why would you only use when baby is a little older? Just a preference thing?
I got a lillebaby when my son turned about 2 thinking I'd wear him on my back when we ride the subway. Never used it Now I plan on using it for #2 and was really excited since it can be used from newborn on and no insert needed. Did you just not like it for newborn? Just want to try a wrap?
I'm curious about a traditional wrap or ring sling as well but also can't see myself bothering with it if I have a traditional carrier staring me in the face. Haha. I'm lazy.

I have a solly wrap and liked it a lot! It's the only wrap I've used but my friend had a baby ktan and the fabric was much thicker and seemed hotter and I didn't really care for the way it worked.

I love my solly! Also I have 2 ring slings from wildbird; once you get the hang of it it's so so easy to pop lo in and out of it. I wear lo2 so much more than I ever did lo1 so that we can be on the go more easily

Eta I also have a tula but the ring sling is my go to for ease of popping her in and out. Solly or tula are more comfy for long periods since the ring sling only distributes weight to one shoulder. I had an ergo, Bjorn one carrier, and moby for lo1 that I haven't used at all for lo2

Loved the k'tan! Buy it from target so you can return with no hassle if it's the wrong size! I never got the hang of a wrap and I definitely was not going to figure it out while hanging out with a very active 3 year old. I still wear baby quite a bit at 9 months

@SweetiePie: @periwinklebee: I used my lillebaby with LO2 as a newborn. I just kept her legs in frog style (similar to what you would do as a newborn in a wrap like a solly)

I babywear A LOT but I probably use my linen ring sling the most because it stores easy in my diaper bag and it's the fastest to pop LO in and out of. It's great for a newborn. when my LO was older (around 5 months) he liked to be worn on my hip so he could see outward. We used it daily till he was about 14 months and I was 6 months pregnant but could of kept going if not for the bump.

A structured carrier like lillebaby is good for longer walks (like hikes) and it's super long life I also like how you can wear multiple ways (front carry, back carry etc)

A solly wrap is easy to figure out and is lightweight. I used it the least though because it's more time consuming to put on and by 5 months my LO preferred to look out.

My second pretty much lived in the Solly wrap for months. It was worth every cent. I had a Mobu wrap for my first and hated it but the Solly felt much more comfortable right from the start. It did take a little practice but I used it for everything.

Once he was 4-5 months I switched to the ergo. Although he is nowhere near the weight limit on the Solly wrap, I found it to get uncomfortable at about 15 lbs or so.

We used a ring sling. But I think not really til like 6 weeks? Gonna try it again with #3, we were mostly happy with it!

I love woven wraps since they're so versatile, comfy (more so than SSCs), and you can use them the longest (well through toddlerhood), but there's definitely a learning curve for using them. I still wrap my almost-3-year-old every day. I liked the K'tan as well since it's 'pre-wrapped' for you; the Boba I found way too hot. I used ring slings on occasion, but you lose some range of motion in the arm that the sling is on, and you really can't be hands-free with a newborn in it, especially if your baby is napping, because there's nothing to stabilize his/her head.

We used the becco and ergo from the beginning with a receiving blanket rolled up. DS was 7lbs 10oz at birth and I think we had him in it 5 days after birth.

@SweetiePie: @periwinklebee: I also used my Lillebaby early on. I started putting DS in it around 3 weeks. For the first little while I tucked a receiving blanket under his bum and kept his legs in.

I didn't babywear at all with my first, but with my 2nd I bought a used K'tan to try, and I love it. Its really easy to put on and there are different positions depending on the age of the baby. I've been using it from 6 weeks to 6 months now.

Another vote here for the K'tan. I used it when LO was a newborn. I wanted something simple without having to learn all the various wraps (which sounds even more complicated with a toddler underfoot), and it fit the bill. With regards to sizing concerns, there is a calculator and other tips on their website: https://www.babyktan.com/sizing. I also was able to take one out of the box to try it on at BBB. My suggested size felt snug at first but worked out well. If it starts to stretch out, running it through the washer/dryer works well.

I bought the Nesting Days carrier for #2 but didn't really end up using it much. It seemed great in theory because I could use it right away but when I'd put her in it, she would cry. She was just happier in her rock n' play.

I'll be wearing #2 in our Moby wrap and the Lillebaby, as well as our mei tai.

@SweetiePie: I use the lille carrier every day to wear my 6 week old on the way to/from preschool for my older dd. I roll up a little blanket (taken from the hospital!) To put in the middle under her bum. The neck support is awesome with that carrier and it's totally fine from day one with newborns from what I've read. Granted dd2 came home just shy of 8 pounds so maybe if ds2 is super tiny hold off?

Related note, but that carrier is also totally awesome for back carrying a toddler. Me and DH carried dd1 all over Italy last fall and use it on hikes all the time!

Loved my boba wrap until she was able to fit into my Ergo without an insert! I suck at wrapping but I went to a mtg with my loves babywearing group and figured it out in no time!
