Ok moms... our 9 month old will not nap alone. To be honest he never really has and this is probably a huge mistake on our part as parents. When he is finally asleep if we set him down his eyes instantly open up so we have always held him for naps. That is unless he falls asleep in his car seat. He has always slept on his own no problem but napping that’s another story.

He is watched while I work by Grandma and she has always held him too. Does anyone have any ideas or advice on how to get him to nap in the crib or pack and play. He has maybe a handful of times, but it’s obviously not consistent and the times he stayed asleep we feel are completely luck! We love holding him because we sadly know it’s going to end but I think if we can get him to nap our lives will be much more our together. That time is so valuable. Any ideas???

I have read about sleep training and tried several times to do some of those ideas. Ie; put him down when drowsy, leave him in there, etc. He doesn’t sleep though he just plays. I mean I have left him for over an hour 😊... or he has been asleep, put him down and we have the same outcome... playing. I think he naps with us becuase of body heat and cozy ness, but I don’t know how to duplicate that feeling for him in the crib? Oh also we have tried a shirt that smells like me for grandmas house... didn’t work 😢. We need ideas from experienced parents.
