Would you take a baby moon in Mexico at 34 weeks (leaving from California)? I should also note that with my first baby I was 11 days late.... Would that change your mind?

I took mine last week at 33 weeks, but it was a 4 hr drive, not a flight, so I knew that worst case scenario I could hop in the car if things started to happen. I'm happy we took it so late (really enjoyed pregnancy spa treatments as much as possible, and it seemed more "real" to talk about than it would have earlier in the pregnancy), but I don't know if I would have felt comfortable flying somewhere, or being in another country.
Still, I voted yes, go!

I would go, especially since you're not going that far (being in CA). We took a baby moon at about 36/37 weeks, a 5 hour drive away.

We got evacuated from our house at 34/35 weeks due to a flood, so we took the opp to have a little "evacucation" in another town. I found sitting for over an hour painful at that stage, and I had gotten a bad case of the exhaustion kinda right around then. So it was nice because I just laid in bed and watched tv and ate room service. If we had been somewhere more fun I would have felt more like I had to do something! So I think it depends on how far you're going and what you want to do when you get there! Going somewhere shitty but relaxing was amazing.

I wouldn't have taken one to Mexico at 34w. Going into labor and giving birth in a foreign country (especially Mexico!) sounds like a nightmare.

I wouldn't. My first came on her due date and my second was four weeks early. You just never know.

I wouldn't only because I wouldn't want to give birth in a foreign country. If it were to a destination in the US I most likely would.

Mexico is definitely not a place I'd feel comfortable having a (premature) baby, so I would t go there 34 weeks pregnant. I'd probably consider traveling most anywhere in the US though, as long as there was a good hospital nearby.

I would probably rethink destination unless you will be very close to home--just in case! We did Disney World at 32 weeks (two-hour flight for us). People thought I was crazy, but I had a great pregnancy and lots of energy until 34 weeks. After we got home, I kept thinking that 32nd week must have been my sweet spot--I was more stressed and losing energy fast in the weeks immediately following it.

I took a trip at 34 weeks and honestly, I didn't really enjoy it (even though I had been looking forward to it). I was feeling tired and sore a lot by that point and it was hard to walk around and sight see. However, I felt like I could have gone the week before and been fine, so you never know. I also took a trip at 28 weeks and that one was a lot of fun.

I don't think I would have felt comfortable being out of the US that late. I would want to know that we had access to a NICU if anything happened. I delivered at 36 weeks and was glad to be close to home.

I voted yes but really I'm unsure... I think 34 weeks is pretty early and I traveled at that time, but should something happen, will you be in a place where you can access medical care? And what about your insurance?
