If you've had a nanny, did you do a background check? Is there any reason NOT to do one? Did you use an online service to run the check?

We did not, but we knew her previous employer (she worked in a university's daycare) had and we called for employment verification / reference.

We have run them on all previous nannies. I always did them thru care.com since that's who we used to find nannies. I've always let them know I was going to request it first.
