There's no actual science that backs up the claim that amber is effective at relieving teething, and putting anything around a baby's neck is a choking hazard. So they are a big no for me.

Same as pps. No actual evidence and seems risky. Also, this article totally changed how i thought about teething:

I've never used an amber one, but my lo likes chewbeads. she uses it more now that she's older. I sometimes wear them but I use it more attached to her stroller, she chews on it while we're out and about

@MamaCate: Intersting article! Our pediatrician recently told me there's no evidence that teething causes night wakings or even pain.
I have to say that with our first, the only time I think teething actually caused pain was molars. He legit stopped eating for a week and randomly woke at night for a week and then stopped once they were through.

I'm surprised to only see negative responses. My SIL swore by the one she used for our nephew & a fellow church mom also swears it has helped her daughter through teething. We did buy one & are using during the day, but I don't know if we are/will know the difference since babies have such varied teething experiences & she's our 1st.

I don't get why you guys are saying its a choking hazard. The necklace I bought has each bead tied on there individually so if the necklace breaks, the beams won't just spill all over the place

@MrsBrewer: If the necklace breaks, the one bead that comes off could be a choking hazard. Also, it's possible the necklace gets caught on something or twisted, posing a strangulation risk.

@kiddosc: gotcha I get the one bead choking hazard. I was just confused.
