What about analog watches? You can find some that are suited to each girl. They make time teacher styles too in case perhaps the younger of the two isn't solid on reading analog watches yet (I'm not sure at what age that happens).

@locavore_mama: do you want to give them something similar?
Girly is easy, you can do a basket/bag of assorted fun girlie things like hair things, nail polish, chapsticks, etc.
Do they like books?

@pelikila: what's teacher style watches?
@cmomma17: it doesn't have to be the same but it would probably make things easier. The younger one is very sensitive so she would be sad if she didn't get what the big sister got if she liked it.
I'd rather not get a basket of stuff they'll lose within days. I wanted to get them books for Christmas but the mom said she buys from. Scholastic a lot so they have plenty of books .

@locavore_mama: they are both at the perfect age for Goldie Blox! http://www.amazon.com/Goldie-Blox-The-Spinning-Machine/dp/B00BCXU3PQ/ref=sr_1_110?s=toys-and-games&ie=UTF8&qid=1403704490&sr=1-110
You could give them each a different set.

@locavore_mama: There are tons of styles but here is an example: http://amzn.com/B0000TIKK8. Basically it has the minutes broken out, tells you which hand is hour and which it minutes, etc.

@cmomma17: oh, I love love love that! I hate giving useless gifts and prefer educational.
@pelikila: oh that's super neat!
Haha I think I'm going to get each girl one of each and call it done. thanks!

At that age, I always take them to get mani/Pedi's. They love feeling grown up & get excited every time we go! It makes me the "cool" aunt for sure

@locavore_mama: I know, I like educational gifts too. I'm dying for an excuse to buy goldie bloxs but I have all boys in my life! Yay! That and the watches would be an awesome gift!

@Mamaof2: It is my go-to gift for boys and girls starting around 4 years old.

Ugh. I really wanted to ship them here, wrap them personally, include a card then ship them to the girls. But I swear the post office has raised their prices again! It's cheaper for me to pay Amazon to gift wrap!
