I live by a beach - and never bought a beach cart until recently and I cannot believe I never had one before. It fits SO much stuff (4 beach chairs, a cooler, a diaper bag, an umbrella, 2 other bags of stuff) and moves easily over the sand! I would think the wagon is hard to pull on the sand..

@Mrs. Champagne: we have too much stuff! Beach chairs, umbrellas, cooler with lunch and snacks and drinks, towels for 4 people, sunscreen, sand toys, the list goes on!

We used a wagon last year. It was hard to pull. But it was nice so LO could sit it in. We just borrowed one. If I was going to buy one I would get a cart since it can carry the chairs (if we are bringing our own)

Wow, I think I need a beach cart. I never knew these existed before. I always feel like we're carrying so much stuff - beach chairs, sportbrella, cooler, towels, etc.

We just came back from the Outer Banks, where everyone had one of these with huge wheels. It made going over the sand a breeze, and I saw a lot of people with smaller wheeled carts struggling on the sand. It says don't put children in it, but we put LO, our pop up tent, towels, toys, and chairs in it and wheeled it from the rental house to the beach every day--we saw many other ppl doing the same.

We use a regular wagon- but have a cart too! I would recommend a wagon!!!
