Hi!
So I know you need a hood for your Beco Gemini.

And as it turns out I am way too petite for my ErgoBaby sport carrier. I returned it (amazing return policy!) and bought a Beco Gemini.

I have just begun the process of making a hood (and dying my teething pads).

I hit a stand-still because my sink stopper LEAKED and my cloths are grey instead of black but here's the start.

Take a piece of 100% cotton (white). I used part of a T-shirt no one was wearing. Get some resist (mine is from Tulip and I bought it at Michael's for about $7 or 8, yes I forgot to bring a coupon). Get some Rit dye in a color that coordinates with your carrier. Get some mini alligator clips OR some flat bobby pins. Get some coordinating color thread.

Draw a design with your resist (or wax if you're crafty!). Dye the fabric. Wash it and dry it (let it shrink!).

Once you have finished dyeing it, hem the edges (if you use an old shirt you only have to hem 3 edges!). Stitch (and hot glue if you want extra strength) a bobby pin on each side, facing toward the middle of the fabric. The bobby pin can go into the loop that the clasp is stiched into, or the little strap that is sewn down the shoulder straps.

Ta da!

Photos of what I have so far (I have to re dye it since my sink leaked and my fabric is grey and not black, so I'm not done!)

Supplies gathered. Not shown: black thread and needle. Sink.

Oops #1. My jar was not hot water safe.

Oops #2 My sink doesn't hold water so the color isn't as dark as I wanted it!

So I got to pretty much REDO the resist--hopefully this means it'll have a good grey shadow around the white design. 2 stores I went to today did not have black Rit dye so I am waiting to finish it. I did try this with my carrier and the bobby pins *should* work. I'll let you know tomorrow (assuming LO lets me go to the store).
