Hi all! I've been a member since March, and have posted quite a few times but have never done a formal introduction. I'm 25 years old, momma to DS (7) and DD (4 months). DH and I have been married for 6 1/2 years. I am a nurse in the Navy and I love the combo of being a Naval officer and RN. I am originally from Alabama (War Eagle!) we are currently stationed in NW Florida! This is by far my favorite parenting board and I'm looking forward to getting to know y'all better!

My DH is USAF, there are quite a few military spouses and former military moms around here.
I'm going to be studying to become a nurse when we get back to the states next year! I thought about enlisting and taking advantage of the NECP, but being mil-mil would have been a giant mess for us.

My husband wants to join so badly, but I can't imagine being dual military, not to mention he would be enlisted and I officer and while I know it shouldn't be a problem since we got married before we joined, it would still be annoying to constantly explain.

@NavyRN2012: Haha, yeah. He's enlisted and if I did that, I'd be an officer. It would be a little awkward. lol. I actually almost joined the Navy right out of high school! Decided an overpriced liberal arts university and a degree in theatre was a better idea (can you hear my eyes rolling?)

@edelweiss: he's doing really well. Their relationship is one of the sweetest things. He's very protective and misses her when they're apart, he does get a little jealous when DH and I can't just drop everything and play with him (he was an only child for 7 years).

@sotofamilia: I love it so much! I was an ER nurse before joining the Navy and that was so much fun. Now I work on a general medical surgical ward (which I swore in nursing school I would never do) and I love it equally as much as the ER. It is definitely a profession you can never get bored with.

@NavyRN2012: Wow that sounds great! My plan is to start taking pre-reqs in the fall in the hopes of going full time back to school in a couple of years. Your job sounds so cool!
