@oliviaoblivia: Whenever there's a thread that both @Smurfette and I get involved in, it just turns into a chat-fest! We're just both so quick to reply to each other, so it's easy to chat, haha.

That sucks! Can't you just say you want her contact info to send a condolence card? Also, wondering how much she would be to be a private nanny instead

@Adira: Did you talk to the director? Maybe she would be more helpful?

@lisa1783: I told the Infant 2 teacher that I just wanted her number to use her as a babysitter and she said that she would ask my fave teacher if she was okay giving me her contact info. I suspect Infant 2 teacher isn't going to do it though... bleh.
@littlek: I haven't talked to the director yet. Infant 2 teacher actually said the director was writing a letter for the parents letting them know about fave teacher leaving, so I was going to give it a few days first.

I may be in the minority but when DD was in daycare we were never officially notified when teachers were let go/switched rooms. It is a bummer when a favorite teacher leaves though. I would definitely bring up your concerns about the two infant groups being together because that could be a safety concern; especially if the one teacher isn't very observant. At our daycare, if the combined the walkers and non-walkers it was only when there were enough teachers to watch over them all of the non-walkers were in some sort of containment (swing/exersaucer) or being held.

@purrpletulips: I think that's how our daycare is in regards to teachers leaving. My friend's daughter has been there for almost a year and she said they usually never leave a note or anything informing parents of changes.
Actually when I showed up yesterday, the two little babies that were still there WERE on the Infant 1 side, but I think they were there just to be "out of the way" of the Infant 2 teacher. She was the only one left (there were two little babies and two mobile babies, so the 4 to 1 ratio was still in place), but I don't think she's really that into the little babies.

@adira: that is sad and I'm surprised they wouldn't move her to a different room if that is the case since it sounds like those rooms share teachers.

@purrpletulips: Yeah, I'm not positive, but she might actually be new. I guess there was a different Infant 2 teacher who was AMAZING and she moved to the toddler room and this new teacher came in. I mean, maybe she's trying to foster independence among the older mobile infants by not holding them so much and stuff? But it sucks when she's watching the little babies because she doesn't seem very warm and loving...

So this is probably horrible of me, but now that Xander's favorite teacher is no longer at the daycare, he actually seems excited to see ME, which I love!
I actually feel a little better today because when I went to pick him up, although he was on the Infant 2 side, both teachers were right in the midst of all the kids and seemed like they were being really attentive, and Xander was in an exersaucer and was clearly having the TIME OF HIS LIFE. He seemed soooooooo happy when I picked him up, which definitely makes me feel better about the situation.
