My LO is six months old and she's in the drooling/teething stage. As a result I've noticed her skin on her left cheek is dry and although I try and put lotion on it, it doesn't seem to be doing the job. I think it's probably because we are constantly wiping all the drool off so the lotion comes off too. Does anyone have any recommendations for something more long-lasting? Thanks!

I don't have a LO yet but I've used Aquaphor in the past and it doesn't rub off as easily as other lotions. Hope an experienced mom can answer and help! Good luck!

@ALittleP: Thanks! I was also considering Aquaphor but I don't have much experience with it for babies so I wasn't sure.

I would use Vaseline instead or even Crisco. It seems like a lot of people develop allergies to Aquaphor.

My LO's skin was getting a little dry and pink so I got some California Baby Calendula cream. Her skin is nice, creamy and soft now!

My LO is also 6-months old and has eczema, too, and because of her crazy drooling, her cheeks are often red, raw, and very sore. Nothing was working but as it turns out, *I* wasn't working hard enough. LO's doctor said that her cheeks have to be a "sticky shiny mess of Vaseline" all. day. long. I didn't like putting Vaseline because LO would rub her face and it would get all over her clothes but doctor said it was the only way. Slather, slather, slather! And I have to admit, since Friday her cheeks have been MUCH better!

@rsp213: I have heard it over and over again that people develop allergies to it. And we have gone to a pediatric dermatologist who advised us to not use it every day so we use Vaseline.
