@jaguar: Any good recommendations??? I need some for my trip. Well, realistically just one because I hope to be talking to DH, having a spa day and drinking on the beach instead of flying through books which I usually do on vacation.
@simplyfelicity: I bet AF is right around the corner now. Has it been about 6 weeks?? You're probably having a longer cycle because you were 10 weeks so it will take your hcg longer to come down. I was 7 with my blighted ovum and it took my almost 6 weeks to have AF after. As for the mont of tidybee, I wish I can say i've been kinder to myself. Honestly, as a SAHM to a little one entering the terrible 2s, it is tough to find me time. But I am having so much fun with her, planning her second birthday party, and working on a work project (I still consult for my old job). I've started swimming again and have been trying new classes at the gym. I'm definitely in a good place where I feel like I have awesome friends here, so we've been having lots of playdates in this fantastic fall weather we've been having. Once ovulation time passed, I was feeling better because the next month is almost here and it happens to fall at the time of our trip. So - we're going to Naples, Fl. After a year of TTC for DD, we decided to take some time off and go to Paris for a long weekend, and we ended up conceiving there. Since that trip, we joked that we were going to go to Italy to conceive our 2nd. So it's not Naples, Italy, but close enough huh??
I wish I could be crafty like @2peasinapod and @marym. I can do some basic knitting, but I kinda suck at it.

Just had my first bloodwork done for my repeated pregnancy loss testing. 9 vials this time...blah. Not as bad as 2peasinapod and her 32!

@jaguar: I'm sure that working with kids would be very hard to return to. I'm lucky in that I work with one other girl in the office and the people I need to talk with on the phone are mostly men so I don't get any prying questions usually.
@2PeasinaPod: @MaryM: I love to crochet! I learned when I was little, my grandmother taught me, and now I do it all the time! I'm horrible at finishing blankets or any larger project but I love making hats and stuffed animals. What kind of stuff is your favorite to crochet?

@simplyfelicity: I'm so sorry to find you on this board as well. Thanks for sharing your story. I'm hoping on Thursday when I get to the hospital I will have nurses and drs like you did. I love what you wrote about grief and feelings. Its very confusing and at times I am so unbelievably sad and then there are days like yesterday where I was sort of numb to it and coasted thru the day without getting overly upset. I expect that tomorrow and the days after will be hard but I'm prepared to let myself grieve however is best for myself and DH. Thanks very much for the welcome and support!
You ladies are amazing and as much as I wish none of us were on this board, you all make it a little less difficult

@HappyBluebird: Thinking of you. I hope you have a good (or at least, under the circumstances, not bad) experience tomorrow!

@simplyfelicity: I hope AF starts for you soon! And good job on not letting that note make you upset!
@Tidybee: Ooohh! A vacation in FL sounds so fun! Enjoy!

@FliegepilzHut: Thank you very much! I decided that I am going to try and go in with a positive attitude (well as positive as I can be in the circumstances). I find that if I try my hardest to look for the positives or the good things in life I get a little less depressed about the situation.

@HappyBluebird: I'm definitely there with you! Along those lines, I got a good laugh out of this the other day:

@HappyBluebird: I'm glad. Was hoping that wasn't inappropriate for this thread...

@2PeasinaPod: The fact that you've done a hat makes you better than me. I taught myself about 2 years ago but have only made flat things. I crochet blankets, but I've been knitting scarves lately for a break (and to try to use up a ton of yarn I've bought over the years!)
clementine / 957 posts
@FliegepilzHut: I don't think its inappropriate at all! The attitude I'm trying to keep is that its ok to be sad and angry and confused but when I do feel like that I allow myself to have those emotions and then try my hardest to find some positive. Even if its a small tiny positive. So I guess I basically allow myself to bump into my cactus (and feel a little hurt) but I'm not going to choose to purposely sit on it and stay on it!

@MaryM: I have a seriously unhealthy obsession with yarn! I have so many skeins its probably borderline hoarding And of course whenever I want to start a new project I have in my mind I NEVER have the exact color I want. DH doesn't understand but if I keep the door to my craft room closed he usually lets my purchases slide!
pomegranate / 3533 posts
@HappyBluebird: I think we're all entitled to some cactus-sitting. But that's because, if you don't experience your grief, it's very difficult to process (and heal from) your grief. But every person is different and every loss is different. I can't remember every detail ...but I know that, emotionally, having a second loss was a lot harder on me.

@HappyBluebird: I bought and moved into my house before DH and I got married. He hates the fact that we have a woman cave and not a man cave I don't think he has any idea how much stuff I hoard down in my craft room!
He complained about how expensive stuff was when he went to get my christmas present last year at a "real" yarn store (not michaels or ACMore). Well, there's a reason I rarely buy real yarn! But since he got me a GC to the all natural fiber store, the acrylic stuff feels so gross to me.
And I pointed out to him that he plays golf every week and doesn't even create anything to keep out of that...so, touche!

@FliegepilzHut: Oh yes I totally agree! Hope it didn't come across incorrectly!
clementine / 957 posts
@MaryM: I need to find a store that carries yarn like that. I usually buy my yarn from Michaels or Joanns. I like the softer stuff for most of the stuff I make. My DH is also into golf and you make a very good point! I might need to steal that if I ever need a good argument for more yarn/craft supplies

@jaguar: Trust me, it still make me cringe to think about too!!! On the upside, periods seem like NOTHING now compared to that.....what a lame silver lining haha
@simplyfelicity: Thank you!! I'm hoping it's a good plan. Seems to be working so far. I'm trying really hard to focus on positive things, which is admittedly, super hard for me. I would totally be proud of myself too, for handling yourself the way you did - way to go! I'm still a mess in those situations...
@HappyBluebird: I'll be thinking and praying for you tomorrow that everything goes smoothly
@FliegepilzHut: hahahahah! I love that!
@HappyBluebird: and @MaryM: I'm a fabric hoarder! Lol I just got back from the fabric store actually. I went to buy a 1/2 yard and came home with 7 different yards. Oops!

@ValentineMommy: Thank you! I appreciate the good thoughts and prayers!
I taught myself to sew about a year ago and its going pretty good. So far I haven't established a fabric hoard like my yarn stash but I could see myself getting there are some point

Well, I've found a good distraction throughout this cycle. Yesterday afternoon, DH got a head-hunting e-mail from a private company asking him to apply for a job (he works in the public sector in this area.) He applied last night and today had a phone interview. It sounds like he'll hear back within 5-10 days whether he got the job or not. The position starts out part time, but he'd be making at part-time what he's making now at full-time. Then in 6 months it would go to full time. We are psyched about the opportunity. There's one potential hang-up, since he's actually still finishing his Masters and needs full-time internship hours, but I think we could figure it out. Prayers and good thoughts appreciated! That's one way to get distracted from TTC!

@ValentineMommy: I hoard fabric too. I have probably 10 unfinished vintage quilts that I totally mean to finish someday. And a ton of random vintage fabric from relatives who've passed away. My family figured I have a sewing machine so I'll use it. lol
Now if only DH could get a super high paying job so I didn't have to waste time working...
@Jess1483: Good luck to your DH! I wonder if they'd allow him to apply his work hours toward internship credit? I know my university will do that sometimes for those who have established careers.
nectarine / 2641 posts
@MaryM: They will (well, they are already), but since he needs 40 hours/week, and he'd only be working 20 hours/week for the first 6 months, we'd have to do those extra hours somewhere. But we'll cross that bridge when (if?) we get there.

@Jess1483: Best of luck to your DH! I will keep both of you in my thoughts!

@HappyBluebird: Aw, thank you. And I will be keeping you in my thoughts tomorrow. I hope you have supportive medical staff and give yourself time to grieve.

@Jess1483: That's great!!!! Fingers crossed!!
@MaryM: I totally hear you on that! I wish my DH would get going on a super high paying job as well! I would be SOOO much happier being at home.
pomelo / 5129 posts
@ValentineMommy: I always thought I'd hate being at home all day, but DH had surgery last year and I took some FMLA time to help him out. Once I had a routine down I didn't mind it at all.

@MaryM: I am super positive that I would love being at home Last year I was furloughed for the most glorious 17 days of my life being at home with DS. lol

Oh yikes! I just got a + opk. I think my miscarriage messed up my FF stats, so I wasn't expecting it until at least Sunday, but this is right around when I usually ovulate. Surprise!

@Tidybee: Do use use goodreads? I'm on there, have heaps of lists and stuff. (My username is 'alyndabear')
I'm off for my genetic testing today... plus a progesterone test to see if I actually O'ed this cycle. I'm 10dpo and had a nosedive temp, so I'd say AF isn't far away. Weekend maybe? I HOPE SO.
@HappyBluebird: It's good your work just lets you get on with it, no reminders. x
@FliegepilzHut: I've done my fair share of sulky cactus sitting. Today, in fact. But I'll pick the needles out and get on with it soon enough.
@ValentineMommy: LOL @ the lame silver lining. Nah, it's definitely a good thing. Imagine if all periods were like that? Urgh!
@Jess1483: What a great opportunity! xx Huzzah on surprise O!

For those of you who have gotten AF, did you spot before? I have been having cramps and spotting for the past couple of days or so but not an actual "flow" (sorry!) Anyone else? I hope this isn't my period because I was hoping for a more healthy lining.

@Jess1483: That's great! Get to it!
@HappyBluebird: You will be in my thoughts and prayers tomorrow.
@Tidybee: Sounds like a wonderful month to me! I hope your trip to "Italy" is exactly what you need.
@FliegepilzHut: Love it! Thank you for sharing.

@simplyfelicity: Still nothing here, but no spotting either. Fair bit of cramping though.

@simplyfelicity: I spotted 3 days.. Then got cramps and a real flow... Only lasted 4 days. I bet yours is on it's way!
