@DesertDreams88: I'm very sorry for your loss. And I would have to say that if you don't feel like you're comfortable with your OB, definitely switch. I was uncomfortable for a little while and I wish I had switched sooner.
@hilsy85: Nooooo...I'm so so sorry. I definitely didn't want to see you here Let me know if you need any info on preparing for your D&C tomorrow. Sending lots of love

@HappyBluebird: Thanks! I hope your wait is over quickly and wish you all the best!
@hilsy85: I'll be thinking of you tomorrow!

@hilsy85: BTW, as for how strict they are about no eating/drinking, I would err on the side of caution. Have you ever been under any type of anesthesia before? If not, you never know how your body will react to it. I was under twilight anesthesia for my D&Cs and was perfectly fine coming out of it. I was just under general anesthesia for my most recent procedure, and while I came out of it ok, I got sick on the car ride home from the ginger ale I drank in recovery. The more you have in your stomach, the more that might come out afterwards...

@2PeasinaPod: You're right, of course...We're leaving here at 10am so I figure if i can stay in bed til 8 or so, it won't be so bad! I've never had anesthesia so I don't know how I"ll react, hopefully fine!
Thanks for all the well wishes, I will update tomorrow afternoon after we get home

@hilsy85: will be thinking of you tomorrow! My D & C wasn't until 3pm, so I was pretty uncomfortable going that long without water. I did gargle with water here and there just so it wasn't too awful.

@HappyBluebird: I will try my best to perk up! SO FRUSTRATING. I hate the waiting around for something so crappy. x
@hilsy85: It really does suck. URGH. I don't know how our time zones go, but I really hope the d&c goes well. That was my first surgery too, I was petrified before mine. It'll be over before you know it.
@Sunshine1810: What are our crazy bodies doing?!?!??! *hugs* I am sympathising with you, big time.
@FliegepilzHut: Not long now!

As for me, well, my doctors are all very surprised I haven't started bleeding yet. My hcg has dropped to 17 (from 76 last Friday) and my progesterone has dropped to 10 (from 106 last Friday) .... so the numbers are coming down, but I have no signs of the loss yet.
Imagine if I'd never done betas or pee sticks, past the first one? I would ABSOLUTELY think I was still pregnant right now. What a total cock up!
In other news, all our genetic karyotyping came back as normal, as well as the huge miscarriage panels I had done last week. I don't have anything jumping out that would cause the losses.... so it looks like it could just be bad embryos, and bad luck.
And now, more waiting. More bloods on Thursday and I HOPE it's <5 by then.... and I need to bleed!!!

@jaguar: Are your hcg levels going down?
Eta: Jinx, you just explained it. Thinking good thoughts for low, low numbers so you can move forward.

I just wanted to ask if anyone's cycle changed much after their D&C? I am now 6 months past and I no longer get any fertile cervical mucus. I used to get a good amount of EWCM and now nothing. It is barely watery. I also don't get my normal ovulation or after O symptoms and my Luteal phase has gone from 14 days to 10 sometimes 11. I am concerned that without fertile cm and a shorter Luteal phase will effect my chances of getting pregnant. I am wondering if this is something I should see my OB GYN about or just wait it out.

@jaguar: I'm sorry, it's incredibly frustrating. Hoping your levels are less than 5 very quickly. Fingers crossed for you

@ctegge0416: I'm sorry I don't have any advice as I haven't gotten my cycle back since my D&C yet, hopefully some of the other ladies can help.
But for me, lately I've figured I'd rather ask about everything and know I have the drs answer than wonder if its just normal. I figure for my own peace of mind its better to just ask. Do you think that if you called the nurses line they could ask the Dr without you having to make an appointment?

@jaguar: Hopefully once your P drops a little more things will get moving? I hope it'll be soon.
@ctegge0416: I didn't have a D&C, but I think after my MC my hormones were completely out of whack. The first two cycles were near perfect, but then I had one where I bled/spotted nearly the whole month, and about 6-9 months out I started showing signs of low progesterone (shorter luteal phases and more spotting)
It probably wouldn't hurt to see if you can talk to your doctor about it. I happened to have my annual at 9 months past and she was willing to run some blood work and confirmed I had low progesterone.

@hilsy85: Thinking of you right now. Hoping your procedure goes smoothly and quickly
@jaguar: I'm so sorry that you're still going through this. I was so angry at my body that I needed the D&Cs to take care of my miscarriages. It's like my body was betraying me. Hoping you start bleeding soon so that you can squeeze in one more before the price hikes up.
@ctegge0416: Mine changed a bit - though opposite of you. I found that I could tell when I was ovulating and my cycles became more regular after my first D&C.
@FliegepilzHut: Hoping the next 3 weeks fly by for you!

@HappyBluebird: @ctegge0416: @2PeasinaPod: Thank you all for the good thoughts!
@ctegge0416: Do you use OPKs or temp? In my world (and at my age) 6 months is plenty of time to wait before at least checking some basic hormone levels (thyroid, prolactin, estrogen, progesterone, etc)!
ETA: After my first D+C, my periods were wonky for about 4 months, then returned to normal.

@simplyfelicity: I meant to ask you, how was swimming with the dolphins?
cantaloupe / 6634 posts
@ctegge0416: That must be so frustrating! I had a D&C, too, but my ovulation was just a few days off. To be fair, I have only had one "true" cycle between D&C and now.
@HappyBluebird: It was so much fun but really short. The best part was being towed around by the dolphin. Thanks for asking.
@hilsy85: Hoping for a peaceful recovery!

Thank you all for the good thoughts! I got home earlier today and have just been resting. everything went smoothly and I am feeling pretty good right now. Just hoping that recovery goes well and AF shows up on time so we can get back to business.
@jaguar: Hoping for the best for you on Thursday!

@hilsy85: Look after yourself, chick. x I'm glad it went well.
@ctegge0416: That's frustrating. I'd be bringing it up to your doctor too. Everything was wonky after mine - but mine was wonky before too!
@2PeasinaPod: I am still really furious with my body, to be honest.
@MaryM: I really hope it happens soon. Walking around like this has been awful.

@HILSY85: Glad to hear the procedure went as well as can be expected! Fingers crossed for your body recovering quickly and getting back to a normal cycle.
@JAGUAR: I hear you on the frustration I'm so sorry you are going through this, especially with the years of hard work (let's be honest, that's what IF is!), dedication, and $$. I'm playing a different waiting game... HCG levels are fluctuating, and OBgyn can't decide if it was two unviable pregnancies and I MCed one (with the other still stuck but not viable), one blighted ovum / incomplete miscarriage, or ectopic
Might have to go to the hospital for methotrexate Wednesday or Thursday...

@2PeasinaPod: @jaguar: @hellobeeboston: @mrsjyw: @DesertDreams88: @travelgirl1: thanks so much ladies. I am actually feeling really great--pretty much completely back to normal, but I know I should probably take it easy the next couple of days. I also had a (small) glass of wine last night and it tasted pretty good

@DesertDreams88: Keep us posted on your status. I'm sorry that you're going through all of this as well. It's bad enough when your body isn't doing the right thing, but now your levels are fluctuating all over the place. Thinking of you...
@hilsy85: Awesome...you deserve it!
@jaguar: What's hip happening? Anything? Are you a runner? Go for a run...if it doesn't help anything along, it might help you to get some aggression out.

Funny, I went for a run yesterday.... and bleeding started overnight.
It's over.

I'm relieved, mostly. This has been such a stressful, disappointing few weeks. Going in to see my IVF centre tomorrow to see what happens next.
