This was our first month even semi-TTC...yesterday morning I took a First Response HPT only 7dpo (b/c I have no patience and wanted to rule it out!) and was SHOCKED when I saw a faint second line. We tried to stay calm and be realistic b/c that is just SO early to see a BFP. Well sure enough, I took another one this morning and the second line is still there a bit darker than yesterday. What are the odds of two false pos? Has anyone else gotten a BFP this early on?? Any advice/insight is appreciated!! Thanks : )

what kind of test are you taking? i did hear there was one with blue ink or something that gave out false positives. i'd say to splurge and buy a digital test. GOOD LUCK!

If you keep taking them and the line is getting darker the chances that it is a false positive are very slim. Congratulations!

I'm using the pink ink First Response tests. I figured I'd wait a few days before a digi test simply b/c they are less sensitive and since it's so early it may not pick up on it. Definitely wasn't expecting this!

@ktgee04: woo hoo! throwing lots of baby dust on you! i say if you're using the pink ink, chances of false positives are pretty low! and you must be making tons of hcg to detect it this early!

Ohhh man...now I'm pretty new to all of this but does such an early reading/high hCG level like this have anything to do w/ muliples like MCSARAH mentioned?? I have no idea how this works!!
Otherwise yes perhaps I just o'ed earlier than I thought but I thought I was pretty certain!

i don't think high hcg necessarily mean you're having twins, but there's definitely a good chance! i'm having twins and i think i was mostly on the upper tier.
and yeah, you may have o'd earlier than you thought, so you may be further along than 7 dpo! woo! keep us updated!

@tequiero21: Congrats on your twins!! It would be a blessing if that happened to us but it's just so early that it seems crazy to even think about. If we can get one to stick it'd be beyond amazing. I'm sure it is just that I O'd earlier than I thought. We are new to TTC so I haven't got this whole process figured out yet. I will definitely keep you updated! Thanks for the help!!

Get a digital! They are supposed to be more sensitive. 2 false positives in a row isn't very likely. And if the line is getting darker, then it probably is positive! Hopefully CONGRATS!!!!!!!

I would definitely get one of the digital ones that says PG or Not PG to make sure. I'm amazed it picked it up that fast but, since you took another one today and it's getting darker, I'm betting you are pregnant!!!

Congrats! I was going to suggest that you may have just ovulated a few days earlier than you thought. Unless you temp or use ovulation tests, there's really no way to know what day you O'd and you can realistically O anywhere from day 12-whenever! Great news!

Woo hoo! Congrats, it is highly unlikely that you got two false positives in a row especially since the second one was darker. Perhaps you O'd earlier than you thought??

Yeah, the odds of 2 false positives are slim. I vote that you o'ed earlier than you thought so you're actually more than 7 (or 8 now) DPO. Congrats, and keep us posted!

Maybe you ovulated earlier than you thought....I imagine it's possible...I had my faint line at 10DPO with a much more positive line the next day (and I know when I ovulated because I took an OPK. Everybody is different.

I agree with Artsy Butterfly, you probably ovulated a few days earlier. I thought I had gotten my BFP at 10 DPO, but since our first ultra sound, baby girl has been measuring about 3-5 days ahead, so it was probably closer to 13 DPO. CONGRATS!

I was almost certain I knew what day I O'd purely b/c I had that sharp cramping type pain on only one side of lower abdomen. Of course now I'm thinking it could have been something much different going on! That would make a lot more sense then getting a BFP this early on. Who knows! I also haven't temped, charted etc. since we just started trying. I'm not going to question it...I'm just glad it's there!!

Since I haven't missed my period yet, how long do I wait until I use a digi test? I'm supposed to get AF between this Sunday-Weds (it's always Weds but last month it was strangely a few days early on Sun). I want to make sure to give it enough time that it'll show on a digi test. Thanks in advance!

@KTGEE04 I never did a digital test and actually went to the Dr to confirm via blood work---this was all before I had missed my period too. I wasn't supposed to get it for a few more days. At the Dr. they did another urine test and then the blood test. The urine test showed the faint positive and the blood test confirmed it all.
I would check out the packaging for the digital tests--I'm sure some of them are early response ones. BTW I also used the First Response test and found them to be more sensitive than others.
