I'm looking for bib recommendations! We use one of the silicone bibs with the catcher thing at the bottom, but DS likes to chew on the sides of it. Are there any bibs out there that maybe have the same idea, but tie in the back? Or just tell me your favorite bib and why

@Mrs.Someone: I have an OXO bib that's half fabric, half silicone! It doesn't have a whole lot of coverage, but sometimes you just need a pocket...

@spaniellove: That's pretty much what we have. I'm thinking of trying to affix a bow to the bottom of it and tie it around his back so he can't eat it?

We have silicone bibs from modern twist. We tried so many types before we found these and now we never use anything else.

@Mrs.Someone: Oh, you mean he's pulling up the bottom? Most of the time we use Bumkins bibs which are all fabric though the pocket doesn't sit open as much. I try to save the silicone bib for outings when I want him to eat puffs from the pocket, which I know is so civilized.

The Burpy bibs! They snapped in the back. We also liked the tommy tippee ones because you could rinse them in the sink

We also use the Bumkins bibs. I like that they are easy to clean in the washing machine and that they fold up really small to throw in the diaper bag or my purse for meals out. We have about 10 of them, and I've registered for some in "boy" patterns for my newborn son (of course we won't use them until he's eating solids, but people keep asking what we need/want...).
Maybe since the pocket on the bumkins bib doesn't stick out as much, your son wouldn't notice the bib and wouldn't chew on it as often?

@Mrs.Someone: so he is pulling up the pocket to chew? Have you tried the baby bjorn one? It's pretty stiff so would be hard to pull up? We also have tommee Tippee ones that are way softer and would be easier to pull up and chew.

@Foodnerd81: He folds up the side and chews on the edge. The Baby Bjorn looks similar to the Summer Infant one we have, any idea if its stiffer?

I use the bumpkins bibs for my younger daughter and a similar but larger style by green sprouts for my toddler. She can pull them off more easily it I don't know what bib she couldn't pull off - I think most velcro rather :than tie because of strangulation fears.
@spaniellove: @foodnerd81: totally using the puffs in the pocket idea at home - I love it! My Lo is always dumping her snack bowl on the floor so maybe this would help.

We've been using these for almost 2 years:
Snap in the back, easy to clean and you can use the pocket or unfold it by unsnapping it.

@Mrs.Someone: If I get around to it today I can try to get a picture of a full sleeved bib on J for you? They tend to lie pretty flat and if he's in a high chair with a tray it would be hard to get to the edges.

@Mrs.Someone: yeah, my daughter started wearing those bibs when she started solids at six months. We had to roll up the sleeves, of course. If I'm remembering correctly, it Velcro's down the entire back.

@Mrs.Someone: haha okay. I was realizing this morning that it's strangely shorter than it once was. I may have to look for their lonnnggg version. But if it's any consolation I think the chewing does eventually slow down...

a couple of bees recommended a bumpkin bib. Its like a smock. Totally saved DD's clothing.
They also have ones with longer sleeves
