For those who remember/followed my pumping at work saga, I have my meeting with the president of the university I work for today, to discuss how everything was handled.
A major part of the problem is gone (my former boss), so some things I may not need to bring up anymore. But I do want the president (who is female and a mom) to know how things were handled. I also want to advocate for the moms who will come after me and to volunteer to help make things better (supervisor training, developing a pumping room, adding to the staff handbook, etc).

@mrbee: sorry if I didn't give a good update there. The last week at work was nuts and I've had little hellobee time. Yes, they found me a room. It's perfect except for the distance from my office. It's private, door locks, no windows, lots of outlets, never used by anyone else. Unfortunately I walk all the way across campus now and the stress of worrying about getting behind on my work has made my output pretty low.

I went through very similar issues as you when I returned to work in May. My work was not really up to speed on accommodating pumping... But after reluctantly paving the way (and a lot of anxiety) there's been real progress and understanding! I just need to not ever relive the discussion with our Director about pumping. There were hand gestures! Milking hand gestures! Cringe.
You're doing a great thing!

Just wanted to let all you ladies and mr bee know that my meeting is not until 4 pm.
I'm almost having to cancel/reschedule because our childcare fell through today! My MIL is very sick and my mom is taking care of my dad who broke his foot yesterday! Had to leave work after only an hour this morning. When it rains it pours! -

My DH is doing his best to get out of work early today so I can make it. He's a GM at a retail store though so depending on what's going on it can be hard for him to leave. We shall see! Might have to bring the baby and breastfeed during the meeting to get my point across! Lol

*UPDATE*
The meeting with the president went great, she is awesome. Because of my situation, and because I stood up for myself she is working with all of the VP's to create a university-wide policy for pumping moms. There will be info in the staff handbook, supervisors will be trained, etc.
She doesn't want me to ever come in early or stay late because of pumping. The newest building being built on campus (very close to my building actually) will include a mothers room.
She apologized to me on behalf of the university. My situation was very dependent on my (now ex) boss, and the president confirmed that she was FIRED (felt good to hear that!!).
It was a great meeting and I'm glad I took things that far. This lady is like superwoman, she breastfed TWINS for a year while pumping at work. She encouraged me to bring the baby in to the office often for visits and said she believes a happy family life makes for better employees. -
