Here is the rough draft of my birth plan. I wrote one awhile back but realized it was WAY to long. Here is my newest rough draft and I am looking for opinions on wording and if I should include anything else or leave anything out. Thanks

T & D Birth Plan

David and I are expecting our first child October 14, 2012 at Trinity Medical Center. We are planning a natural medication free birth. We ask that our following wishes be respected during this birth.

Labor & Delivery

1. We would like the lights dimmed and door to remain shut to ensure privacy. We will bring our own music to play during the laboring process.
2. We are attempting to have a natural birth, which we believe to be birth without medical and/or chemical intervention. We do understand that there are procedures which may be necessary. Except in the case of an extreme emergency, we ask that we be given the opportunity to accept or refuse any procedure. We also request that the least invasive or restricting versions of procedures (i.e. walking epidural, external monitor) be used.
3. T would like to avoid and episiotomy and tear naturally.
4. I plan to use walking, massage, breathing techniques, water, etc. to deal with pain. Please do not offer any chemical pain relief. I will ask for it if needed.
5. I would like to push without time constraints and in the position of my choosing.
6. After the birth, I wish to nurse our baby immediately. We ask that any evaluations be done while T is holding baby. We also ask that the cord not be cut until done pulsating. D would like to cut the cord.
7. If C Sections becomes necessary Tiffany would like to be conscious and able to nurse immediately after baby is delivered.

After Birth
1. D or T will remain with baby at all times.
2. If baby is a boy we will not be circumcising baby.
3. We will be delaying vaccinations. We do not want our baby receiving the Hepatitis B vaccine.
