My son is only 2 so I don't know what the cool older kids are into, lol! What toys or games have been a hit with 4 year old girls you know lately? I'd need this in time for an Oct 1 birthday, so Amazon availability would be great.
Thanks!

Spot it card game (it was recommended here) - I've given it at all of the 4 year old parties this year. Puzzles. LO got a bunch for her birthday and she's very into them right now. She also got a juniors lego set. She couldn't really follow the instructions to do it herself, but we built it together and she plays with it. She's also a big fan of books and stuffed animals.

My DD is almost 4. She loves all the princess and frozen stuff even though we try to limit her access to that. She has asked for Elsa and Anna dolls and likes those magic clip dolls.
She also loves dress up stuff. So any of those would probably be great if she is into princess stuff.
I am trying to avoid that, however, so I have been giving her friends the hoot owl hoot game which is available on Amazon. We have played it and it is super fun!

A tea pot set. This is going back a few years ago, but a Princess Tiana tea pot set was a huge hit with my God-daughter. Her mom said that was the first toy she wanted to play with when they got home from the party. There were tea cups and fake dainty treats in the set.

I usually give craft stuff for girls that age. Amazon sells lots of kits like paint your own jewelry box, make your own masks, stuff like that.

My friend's daughter turned 4 a couple months ago and her absolute favorite present was a Frozen themed scooter. We got her a bunch of bubbles things, including a Fubbles container, because she loves bubbles but she's always accidentally pouring them out.

Sticky mosaics and an Elephant and Piggie book (Mo Willems) have been my go-to gifts for 4-year-old birthday gifts this past year.

Our neighbor got this sticker set and she loves it. My 2.5 yr old loves to play with it too.

I second craft supplies! And dress up clothes. Also, My daughter turned 4 in July and one of the gifts she liked best was a talking clock. I like it too - It's helped her learn about time.

@MoonMoon: can you just ask your friend if she has a wish list?
My 3.5 year old is very into playing pretend/ dress up and arts and crafts. She's not into princesses (yet) or Legos.

Oh wow thank you everyone! Your suggestions are great, because I wouldn't have thought of some of those things, like craft kits or lego sets for a 4 year old. It's cool that they can be into them already!
@regberadaisy: she just said she's into princesses! So I'm trying to come up with a princess-themed gift...
