We have a birthday party coming up for LO's friend. She's 2 and her daddy is in the military so they move a lot. She already has tons of toys and clothes.... and I don't want to get her just another toy that they have to move with or won't even want to deal with. Any suggestions? Should I go with a personalized book or something?

A personalized book sounds great, especially since she has tons of toys and clothes already. Or maybe something that she can travel with, like a little notebook/crayon set. Something that she can play with during her airplane/car rides.

I always try to give art supplies. I avoid toys and clothes bc it's hard to know what they already have, sizing, etc.

Personalized books are cute. 2 is kind of young for art supplies IMO (other than blank paper and crayons- I think it's a waste to get them coloring books when they're just going to scribble all over the pages and can't color in the lines yet).

@Pink Champagne: As a happy participant of a toddler art coop, I totally disagree!
Here are some art supplies appropriate for 2yo's:
- finger paints
- smock for art projects
- a mini Xyron machine to make your own stickers (with a parent's help)
- bingo markers
- ink pads and stamps or wood blocks
- paint brushes (in addition to painting with paints, DD likes to paint with water on construction paper)Coloring books wouldn't be my first choice, but DD's been gifted some, and while she can't color within the lines, she still enjoys them.

@artbee: I just remembered that I bought this for my friend's 2 year old daughter for her airplane trip to Hawaii.
My friend told me that she was playing with this for over an hour. Stickers are always fun for kids!
