The parody was actually removed from YouTube for "sexual content" for a few hours but was reposted.. the Robin Thicke version wasn't removed.. not even the unedited (totally topless) version.
What are your thoughts on the girls version?

I like the parody. They really nailed sexist double standards plus outright assaults on women.

This parody is okay, but I prefer Bart Baker's version, which is also on YouTube. Baker goes a little off the rails at the end (okay, maybe from the very beginning...), but my favorite part is when "#douchebag" is flashed across the screen. Because that's exactly what I thought when I first heard "Blurred Lines," too.

@Kemma: For me, it's not the nudity, it's the lyrics of BL that are problematic. I don't mind a little T & A . . .

@MsLipGloss: fair enough! I just kind of feel a bit like Robin Thicke is being slammed and unfairly made an example of when so many other artists have also released songs that are equally dodgy and degrading to women!

@Kemma: I think it was the *perfect storm* for backlash . . . lyrics to a popular jam are degrading--but you're so right, nothing new there!--, combined with the VMA performance, and topped off by the girls prancing in the vid . . . I think that might have put it over the top and made it a target for backlash?
