Yes LO is 4 and got them for Christmas, she loves them!

I've been wanting to get these for my LO, I hear they are great.

@mediagirl: Yes, we use them as supplements and I think we've got all of them and have used nearly all of them (the three numbered "collection" sets plus the sets of Sight Words and First Stories), so I feel like I've given them a fair shake. I got them at Costco, so the numbering is different than the ones for sale on Amazon, but Collection 1 was like pulling teeth to get him to read and it wasn't exactly a treat to listen to. ("Mat. Mat sat. Sam. Sam sat." is just not that fun.) They get a lot better/more interesting and even sometimes funny as you go, so we stuck with it through those first sets and I'm glad we did. I would recommend them as practice. It's hard to find readers for the very early stages, and these are as good as they come, I think. But I stand by my assessment that the first ones are incredibly boring.
