Did you read any books about toddlers? I am thinking about buying The Happiest Toddler on the Block and Toddler 411. My LO just turned 15 months and she has some tantrums that I don't know how to deal with.

I listened to happiest toddler on audiobook. I didn't get all the way through it, but I would say it was helpful. The technique sounds silly but I do use it from time to time and it works. Just another tool in the toolbox.

I have "Raising your spirited child", but yet to read it. I thought about getting "Happiest Toddler on the Block" as I read the baby book and thought it was really interesting although the techniques didn't work for DS and all his reflux/allergy issues (I think they would have worked great if he was just colic without the underline medical, kwim?).

I am in the middle of "Happiest Toddler on Block." A friend with a 3 year old recommended it. I also bought "Setting Limits with Your Strong Willed Child," although I'm not sure if my 15 month old is actually strong-willed or just a toddler.

@plaidpants: Same here!
I think mine is just a toddler and I don't know what to expect or how to deal with things!

@autumnlove: My husband thinks it's overkill and that's she just being a limit-testing toddler, but I figure it can't hurt! If nothing else, maybe it will help me deal with strong-willed people at the grocery store or something.

I just bought a book called "Love and Logic..." heard good things but the writing style is tough to get through so far.

I bought Happiest Toddler on the Block and also the How to listen to your kids book (the one that mrbee had written about a while ago).

@Freckles: I also got the "How to Listen so your Kids Will Talk and Talk so your kids will listen" book as well.. I'm having trouble getting through it. Also, putting it into practice has been challenging. It reqiures too much thought when I'm in the "heat of the moment"!
@Mrs. Confetti: I have the Love and Logic, Toddlers version. Some of the scenarios they come up with are kind of extreme and I can't see myself following through, but overall I like what it says...
