We are looking for a new bottle. We currently use drop ins and I'm sick of wasting so much plastic. I think it was good when she was a newborn because we didn't have as much time to clean them, but now I'd like something more environmentally friendly. I know that it will depend on what she likes, but do you have any suggestions?

@chopsuey119: Did you like them? I heard they're hard to clean. If you couldn't tell by my current disposable liner system... I'm lazy when it comes to cleaning bottles.

I heard Dr.Brown bottles are amazing. I guess they reduce the amount of air.

My daughter only gets a bottle a couple of times a week, but she seems to really like the Avent bottles. They are easy to clean.

@artbee: i loved Dr. Brown's. They're not difficult to clean at all! It comes with a little cleaner for the blue air vent. It's a bit of a pain because there are 4 different parts you need to clean (bottle, nipple, air vent, another part i forget what it does), but it reduces the amount of air your LO takes in and decreases chances of colic.

we use the playtex ventaire advanced.. short bottles. I like them and so does baby. They are easy to clean because you can take the bottle apart.

@lovelife: I was just looking at those online. I think that might be good for us because she takes a playtex bottle now, so hopefully she wouldn't have an issue switching to that one.

Although I have nothing to base this on other than what people suggested to me, we're going to try the Tommee Tippee bottles. I've heard they're easy to clean and good for switching from bottle to boob and back.

@artbee: I worked at a daycare before baby so I've used alot of different bottles with the babies there, and this playtex bottle was by far my favorite.

@artbee: I would recommend for you to switch to ventaire as well. We used the drop ins at home and the ventaire when we went out. They are very easy to clean!

We use the first years breastflow bottles. I feel pretty 'meh' about them and recommend avoiding them. They're definitely a pain to clean because they have a double nipple.

If you don't love the ventaire bottles you might consider the MAM bottles. I love the MAM anti-colic bottles. There are 5 parts total but it super easy to clean and put together. No small parts to scrub. A bottle brush is totally unnecessary with those bottles.

@owlmom: We actually already have those. They told me to get them when I was having breastfeeding issues. But you're right, they're hard to clean. Plus they're harder to eat out of and she quickly got way too lazy for them once she tried the drop ins we're using now.

@artbee: we use avent and quite like them, as does LO. Easy to clean too.

another vote for ventaire! I nanny for my 3-month old nephew who is strictly on formula, and those bottles are a dream. every single piece comes off, and takes no time to clean.

We've used Avent, I like them because they don't have a lot of parts and they are sold in our local grocery store, so if I need to replace nipples, I can do it during our weekly shop.

We used to use the MAM anti-colic bottles until I got really tired of cleaning all the parts. I also wasn't a fan of the bottom having to be twisted on correctly to be able to work.
We are now using Tommee Tippee and love them.

the woman I nannied for used evenflo glass bottles, both sizes. as long as she/I burped the girls every 2 oz or so, there were few issues with gas. the older of the 2 had severe reflux when she was a newborn, but zantac helped with that.
only downside is that they are heavier, but I believe they do sell silicone "sleeves" that make them more drop and break resistant

We use Tommee Tippe and really like them. They're easy to clean too.

We also use Tommee Tippee and love them. Easy to clean and DD has no issues going from bottle to breast and back.
