How do you travel with bottles? Do you heat them up on the go? Or does LO have a cold bottle?
LO has his first dr appt tomorrow and I'm trying to figure out how that works.

We just take it up before to take the chill off. LO takes lukewarm bottles!

we usually heated them on the go (i would find a hot water source and paper coffee cups, or bring my own cup to fill with hot water.)

LO was on formula so I could just bring bottles full of room temp water and mix it when she was ready.
My niece drinks breastmilk and we always heat it on the go. We'll try to find a place to get a warm cup of water to put it in, but if there is no place like that we'll go to the bathroom and run it under the hot water there.
Good luck at the doctor apt!

my baby has cold bottles of BM just fine, but DH says she takes them down faster when it's warmer. i told him to leave them cooler.

I always kept my lo's formula at room temperature. This made it so easy to travel with, not having to warm up a bottle and all.

@septemberlove: Is it formula or breastmilk?
I really liked the ready to feed bottles that Similac makes. LO didn't do well on powdered formula, so these were great for us. They're available in 2oz bottles and 8oz bottles. DS had no problem drinking a room temp bottle and eventually would take them cold too.

L is ebf and will not take a lukewarm bottle. When his dad took him to a rugby game I packed him a thermos of hot water.

DD actually prefers cold bottles so we bring the bottle and small ice pack.

Formula or breastmilk? For formula, I tried to get DD to take room-temperature bottles as soon as possible to make on-the-road bottles easier. Then I would just make her bottles when we were out with room temperature water, and I would just add the right amount of powdered formula and shake it up. She didn't like cold bottles until she was quite a bit older, so cold bottles were problematic. You can always put the bottle in a cup of hot water to heat it, but that can take a while...

If I couldn't nurse and had to give a bottle I would either just let it get to room temp or would find hot water to warm it.

We bring a portable coffee cup (one of the metal ones) filled with boiling water- when we need to heat the bottle, we just pop it in the thermos.

Our LO is used to room temp bottles/milk, which we keep in an insulated lunch bag w the medela ice pack

My LO is pretty flexible... She's fine with warm, room temperature, or even a cold bottle (if she's really hungry). If it's hot and I'm going to be out for awhile, I'll bring the bottle in an insulated sleeve with an ice pack.

I wish LO would take lukewarm bottles! I rarely nurse outside of the house; I bring bottles and ask for half a cup of hot water at Starbucks, McDonalds, etc. Or you could bring a travel mug of hot water with you.
