LO will be 3.5 months next week, crazy! I'm afraid I have come too far with bad sleep habits and will have to basically give it a few months until we can sleep train.
For starters, I rock her to sleep at night. She will occasionally fall asleep nursing, in which case I swaddle her after, then rock to make sure she's asleep (a couple minutes), then put her in the RnP. If she doesn't fall asleep nursing, it's the same swaddle and rock routine, but it takes a loooong time to rock her asleep roving to plop her down (30 min-1 hour). She's been decent with night sleep, just recently waking up every 2 hours (ugggggh), but I thibk that's more due to starting to roll over/3 month growth spurt/2 tooth buds.
Naps...suck. Early on she fought them so much and I was desperate, so I'd put her in the Ergo and just wear her. A few months later...I still am. I'm just so desperate for her to sleep I figure it's better than nothing, and it's easy. I don't have to spend 30 minutes rocking her. I can get her to nap in the swing early in the morning, but it takes a long time for her to fall asleep. Same with using the RnP, I can rock her to sleep and put her in there, but again, it takes forever. The end result for all of these, is, at most an hour nap (usually 45 minutes). Right now her max awake time is a tiny but over an hour.
I guess at this point, is there anything I can do to help her sleep without continuing the sleep associations I've developed? I'm looking at sleep training, but want to wait until she's 5.5-6 months at least.
