@Anagram: Yes, I believe so. Like you said, I'm hoping this isn't just a consultation and he'll clip them if he finds them. The ped said he does have a lip tie so I'm just unsure about the tongue tie.
@hilsy85: I was reading about the exercises online so I'll definitely ask, thank you so much for all of your help. I'll definitely give it some time. He's 8 weeks today so he's had quite a bit of time to get used to doing it the 'wrong' way but hopefully he'll learn quickly.
@Ms.SK: I will update this thread this evening.

@hilsy85: @Ms.SK: per the ENT no tongue tie and lip tie is too thin to be causing any problems. The ped's office recommends exclusively pumping.

@jetsa: so sorry I'm just responding now! That is a bummer... Have you met with an IBCLC? If you're able to pump enough to meet your LO"s needs, then again, I don't think it's a supply issue...is it possible that he has a weak suck reflex? An IBCLC would be able to help with that possibly? Of course, if you do decide to just EP, that's great too! Either way good luck
Sorry it didn't work out the way I thought it would!

@jetsa: I know that kjpugs is exclusively pumping right now. If you go that route, she may be a good person to chat with! Her baby is about your baby's age, too.

@hilsy85: We don't have any local.
@mediagirl: We've discussed it.
I've decided to throw "normal" out the window. If Jack wants to eat every hour, I'm going to feed him every hour. I'm too stubborn to give up at this point. On the nights that he acts like he's starving and hour long boob seshs don't seem to help he's going to get a bottle of formula and I'm not going to feel guilty.

@jetsa: Good for you for sticking with it! The main thing is that your baby gets fed. I struggled for 3 months with my baby's bad latch through LC visits, twice weekly breastfeeding support groups with weighted feeds,the tongue and lip tie procedures and cranial sacral therapy to work on her suck reflect and tight jaw and still, it didn't work out. So I'm an exclusive pumper for now (she's 4 months). And that may change soon too as now we know she's MSPI and has silent reflux and has developed a feeding issue (hates eating period, and I can only feed her when she's asleep). So long story short, my expectations of LO and myself have had to evolve as this process has gone on. No need to feel guilt about whatever works best for you and LO. =) Hang in there.
