I've been fighting the urge to stock up on clothes because I just have no idea how LO will grow, or what size she will be when she gets here. I am interested to see how many people buy ahead though because sometimes it is hard to turn down good deals!

I just bought a bunch of Carter's and oshkosh online for next summer because they were having a big sale, and I just couldn't turn it down. I did try to buy stuff that could be layered though, just in case the stuff I bought doesn't actually wind up fitting him in the summer.

I find it's easier to stockpile for girls than it is for boys. If you buy a dress and it's too small, you can use it as a top with leggings. If it's too big you can use it as a jumper.

I also find that the top and bottom are different...making it even more difficult. My 18 month old son is wearing 24 month/2T up top and wears 12 month pants. So, it's all over the map. If there is something adorable, then limit yourself. There will be even cuter things next year....says the mom who has Spring 2013 all purchased, lol.

I want to, but I'm worried. My 2 month old is already wearing 6mo clothes, but still in 3mo pants. I have no idea what size he will be next year. My sister always had to double her kids' age when purchasing clothes (at 1 year they were fitting in 2t). I'm thinking since my husband is about the same size as my bil that this will be the case for our lo too.

My DD is 2 weeks old...and I've already bought some clothing up to 2 years. I won't buy any swimsuits or snowsuits in advance, I want to wait and see if LO is taller for her age or short since there's about a 1-2 month span that she can use those items where we live. But t-shirts and sweaters are fine.

I buy a year in advance all the time, especially from Gap since their clothes are pretty true to size. It just really depends on the brand for me. I think after a while their clothing size will match their age (2 years, 2T) unless your child has always been bigger than average. My friend's daughter is 3.5 but she has to wear 5T for certain brands b/c she's really tall.
