Have you ever bought your LO's clothes 9-12 months in advance? I was doing a little online clothes shopping for my girls for spring/summer and I noticed a lot of really cute fall/winter weather items. I decided to go for it and buy some things in 4T for A for the next winter season. I feel like once they get older it's easier to guess since they stay in sizes much longer. I didn't attempt to go beyond summer items for E. I hope it works out!

I can easily buy shirts 1 season ahead but pants have been tricky. Both my kids have tiny waists/no waist so things end up being too big.

I tried that last year, but she didn't grow as quick as I anticipated so the seasons were all wrong lol!

Yup, I've done it from day one with DD 1. I don't with DD 2 because I kept all of her big sister's so I'll just supplement as needed.

I don't, usually because I know in 9 months there will be new styles out and cuter things that I want! So I might buy one or two really cute pieces, but generally I wait. And there will always be sales!

I bought a couple basic leggings, shirts, and coat from the GAP sale for super cheap for next winter. I got a 3T, I am assuming she will need 3T for the length. But I don't buy a ton cause I know I want to buy stuff when they release new season stuff.
I also got some stuff last summer for this summer. Again, GAP sales. In store is way better then online for grabbing the good deals.

I do it pretty regularly - especially with brands and specific pieces I know well, like Gap mini skinny jeans and shorts.. I try not to go crazy and just buy basics that won change much, unless I really love a specific collection.
While I love to buy the newest in season things, it can be nice to have backup options you love in case a season's look is a total flop for your kiddo. I liked Gap's winter looks this year, but the colors (lots of neutral brown/maroon/gray) and loose styling looked terrible on my LO. I was very glad we'd bought some colorful, slim things last year so she could just wear those.

Definitely! For example, if I see winter clearance dresses now, I will pick them up for DD for next fall/winter.

I have done it from day 1 with LO but find as she gets older it's harder to guess. The summer stuff is going on sale but I don't know if she will need a 2/3 so am holding off. Things like t-shirts can be worn all year round here so I can buy them ahead no worries but bottoms are harder to predict. I like to dress her well for as little $ as possible so I just take the risk. There's only been a few pieces that haven't been right but LO has always been pretty true to size.

With certain things I do buy ahead, like tops/pants in the next sizes that can be layered or are seasonles. I don't buy shoes ahead.

if there is a sale i'll stock up on basics like plain tees. i do buy one year ahead on cute things like dresses where exact sizing doesn't matter as much. but pants i don't buy ahead because it's hard to get it just right.

DS1 is easier to predict, and I stocked up on winter clothes in the next size up. He is tiny and will most likely fit into 4T next year. DS2 wears hand me downs from big bro, and I buy his clothes as needed.

If it's cute yes I'll buy ahead and tend to buy way bigger.
DS is already starting to creep into 3T stuff though, so not sure if he'll be 3T or 4T next winter.
