i think it took me a month to feel pretty much back to myself post c section, but i was pretty functional when taking my percocet/motrin. the recovery with vbac i think is going to be much faster, but was much much more intense the first 10 days.

I had a c-section and it wasnt too bad. The more you get up and move around the better you will feel. I believe i was on meds a week after i got released from the hospital. I had my son 3 months ago and still occasionally i'm a bit sore, especially if i push around my incision area. As for pain, i didnt have pain after about a month. It will take a long time to fully heal though, you figure they did a lot of moving around things in there. Just take your time and dont push yourself too much.

At 2 weeks the husband and I went to Target and the Mall to get some Christmas shopping done. I was fine, a liiittle slower than usual but not too bad. At 3 weeks I was able to take longish walks up the hill by our home, and to run errands (the store while walking), too. I went off my percocet during the second week and didn't use advil, either. I did need a stool to get in and out of bed, but soon I didn't need it anymore.

I started feeling better around week 3, and now at week 6 I am back to jogging 3 miles regularly. I would recommend staying active, yet taking it easy during the first 4 weeks. My skin about an inch above and below the incision is very minorly sensitive, which my provider said that can take up to a year for the nerves to return to normal around that area.

It looks like I'm a minority here.
I'd say I'm a hypersensitive person in general and that's no different when it comes to recovery from surgery. I was ok on morphine the first day but once they took me off it I was screaming and crying from the excruciating pain I was feeling 24/7 even while on Percocet and Advil round the clock! I could not imagine not taking Percocet even at around two months PP! I had to ask my doctor to refill my prescription.
The first month was horrendous. I didn't start feeling okay until after the third month. I also had terrible side effects from the surgery. Perhaps it was a side effect from the spinal. I'm not sure. But I had severe tendonitis on both of my arms and severe swelling and excruciating pain on both of my legs and feet. I forgot exactly how many months it took for the leg swelling to go away but my tendonitis stayed until 9 months PP.
I didn't start feeling normal until about 12 months PP but my scar area is still very itchy and numb to this day and my baby is 19 months old.
I have friends who didn't think their c-sections were that bad and a couple of them just stopped taking Percocet after a day or two after surgery.
My horrible recovery is yet another reason I'm hesitant to have another child!

I had mine early September. The first 7 days (of which I spent the first 3 in the hospital) were bad in terms of trying to get out of bed/sore/getting up and down. After that I was off meds and only taking stuff on an as needed basis. Day 8 I took a walk to Starbucks (about 4 blocks). By day 14 I was basically fine and driving again. Now, 2 months out it's like it never happened...except when I do too many lunges at the gym...bad news bears.

I had mine on 10.21, and felt pretty good about three days after the surgery. I felt so good, in fact, that I pushed myself a little too hard... and then felt like crap the next few days.

I'm 4 weeks PP, and still have the lifting restrictions until I see my OB in two weeks, but I feel pretty much back to normal now.
