I am cycling through some older frozen breastmilk. I'm wondering if once I thaw it I can combine it with recently pumped refrigerated breastmilk. Ie, if I defrost 3 oz of frozen milk, can I combine 1 oz of it with 2 oz of refrigerated milk?
I want to make sure that LO is getting enough hindmilk and more recent milk with the nutritional value that he currently needs.

I have been doing that- mixing thawed and refrigerated milk to make a full bottle and LO doesn't seem to mind. I'm interested to hear about others response as well.

I've been doing that. Typically Friday's milk gets frozen then defrosted Sunday evening for Monday. And if for some reason I pumped over the weekend my mom just mixes any leftover frozen with the new stuff. As long as they're at the same temp I think you're fine.

that's exactly what i do to cycle through my frozen milk but to make sure olive is getting nutritionally appropriate current milk.

I also used the same temp rule. If I had a bottle in the fridge, I would defrost the frozen milk in the fridge until they're both fridge-temp. And then mix!

Yup and I always use the shortest use date, so typically within 24 hours of defrosting even if the freshly pumped milk would be good for a week in the fridge.
