My LO will be 3 in May, her little sister arrives in August. She's still sleeping in a crib and is perfectly happy there, but we're starting to think about transitioning her. I'm in no rush; LO2 will be in our room in some capacity for the first few months, then can always sleep in a PnP if necessary.
However, LO does need some new furniture so her sister can take her baby stuff. Her crib is convertible (crib/toddler bed/full-size bed) so we'd originally planned to use it til she went to college, but didn't strategize about what we'd do in case of a second kid.
Anywho - we're shopping for "big girl furniture" for her so we can give the baby her stuff. We love this set, but I'm not sure a 3 year old will manage in this bed? We'd buy a separate toddler rail for her, and probably some kind of step so she can get in and out, but ideally this would be her bed from age 3-17. What do you think?
It scared me to have DS so close to a window since he knows how to open and close them. I felt safer with him being away from them. He's so all over the place when he sleeps that he could easily roll into the windowsill if it's open and push the screen out and fall 2 stories. Our windows are lower than most. Middle of the room seemed much safer to me.
