I just started a job a few months ago, and live in MA. Baby is due in January, and I won't be eligible for FMLA until March (1 year since my hire date).

I know that in MA I can still take 8 weeks of MMLA since I'll have been here at least 3 months by then, but I'm wondering if its possible to take the 8 weeks of MMLA immediately after birth, and then use the FMLA once I'm eligible? So maybe I'd go back to work at 8 weeks, work for a few weeks, and then either take more time off all at once or even just pick one day a week to use as unpaid FMLA for the rest of the year?

Leave is so confusing!
