Do you keep an extra car seat in grandparent's car?
Which one?
We're thinking about getting one for the IL's car but don't want to spend too much.

My parents have a Britax Roundabout. My ILs have a Cosco Scenera. The ILs have my niece in the car a lot, and it's worked well. Obviously, it's cheaper than the Britax.

I would get a Cosco one. I think you can get one for $100 at Walmart?

Yep, my mom has a Cosco carseat (maybe 2) that she uses w/ all the grandkids for her cars.
MIL doesn't have one but thinking of getting her one

@mediagirl: $39! SOLD!
How's the sizing of the Cosco Scenera? It will primarily go into a Buick Sedan. Our Britax Marathon fits fine.

We got a base for the infant car seat. We travel with them to their place on the beach a lot, so it made sense.

My parents have a britax boulevard which I got for them. I figured the way my mom drives, my kids will need all the help they can get!

My inlaws babysit so they bought a convertible car seat. I wasn't comfortable with MIL dragging LO out and about when he was a tiny baby because it was wintertime when I went back to work. I certainly didn't buy it for them though- I figured if she wanted to go to the mall and stroll LO around so badly, she could shell out the bucks for the carseat herself (they have plenty of parks and entertainment within walking distance of their house, and in an emergency I would hope they would dial 911 first before hopping in the car)

@Pink Champagne: Really? We kinda feel our baby, our responsibility. And sometimes in emergencies we ask them to go pick her up so it's a pain for them to come to our house and unlatch car seat and latch into theirs. It'll make their life a little easier since often they are doing us a favor.

Both parents already have one from our nieces, I will need to check to make sure my mom's is not expired though! MIL's should be fine because our niece on that side is only 2.

once DS wasnt using the newborn seat anymore, the inlaws bought a convertible for their car. my mom also has one in her car, but it's a 2nd one my brother lets her use, because they are now only down to 1 car.
