Any recommendations of a rear facing car seat for a 9 month old baby. She's very long so I believe she'll soon outgrow the removeable car seat that she's been using since birth.

@Peasinapod: oh gosh--totally depends on your car, your budget, how long you want to RF, if you plan on having more kids sooner or later....etc. =)

@Anagram: oh my. We have a dodge van that's maybe ten years old. Plan to rear face as long as possible. Won't be trying for at least 2 years for another baby! Budget I'm not sure, but for baby stuff I tend to be willing to pay more if it'll last longer/ be safer.

Okay, I currently have a sedan, but we may be getting an SUV soon. I wanted a narrow seat that I could do 3 across if I ever needed to and had high RF height limits (well, and high ff limits, too so I don't have to keep buying products).
So my choices were kind of narrowed to the Diono Radian, The Cleck foonf (and now there's a new one, a Fflo I think) and the Combi Cocorro.
I ended up trying the Radian and the Foonf in my car and the Foonf fit better (took up less space front-to-back, so the passenger seat could be in a good place). I found one on sale.
We really love the seat so far and will probably get another Clek of maybe a Radian if we have a different car for number 2, due in a couple of months.
If you have a van with bucket seats, I don't think it really matters about narrow/wide seats, since you won't be trying to squeeze them in together.

@Peasinapod: It sounds as if space isn't an issue, but we have the Britax Marathon 70 that we used both in my Mazda 3 (compact) and DH's Toyota Highlander. We have since gotten rid of the 3 and got another mid-sized SUV. It fit fine in all 3 cars rearfacing, but with my 3, it was super tight for the passenger seat. With the SUVs, we barely moved the passenger seats up rearfacing. We turned DS the week after he turned 2.

@Peasinapod: The Graco clones (MySize, Size4Me, Headwise, etc) supposedly have the highest rear-facing height-limit (which is what kids usually reach before they reach the weight-limit), so that's what we got. Xander's 2 and no where near outgrowing it anytime soon!
