Our carbon monoxide detector went off on Wednesday...scary and annoyingly loud. The maintenance guy replaced the detector and gave us new batteries and said it was probably just a battery issue.
The detector just went off again and I am worried there is a real issue! The maintenance man is coming over now to conduct some tests.

Yes, it has and it scared the crap out of me! Especially because M was only like 2 or 3 weeks! But my husband said it does a automatic test once a year.

Can you ask the fire department to come do a check? We had them come to one place I worked to check, it was kind of silly that they came with a fire truck, but whatever. With lil brains in the house, I wouldn't wanna risk it.

we don't even have one! I think I'm going to buy one asap. we've been in this apartment for over 3 years. ugh. and best part - my landlord is my FIL.

@sorrycharlie: I thought they were required?? We have one in our ceiling right next to our smoke detector. I think they make plug in ones too though. Just buy one & deduct it from your rent, stick the receipt in with your rent

@mrs. bird: They aren't required by me. We rented for a year, and we never had one. We plan on buying some for our house soon, but right now we dont have any in our house either.
