Recently one of my amazing co-workers donated a kidney to a child in need. Looking for ideas for a care or gift basket to send to her home while she recuperates, the only idea I can come up with is a breakfast basket.

That is very thoughtful of you. My husband was a kidney donor almost 5 years ago. A breakfast basket is nice, also if you know of any movies, books, easy/healthy snacks, etc. that they enjoy or things they can do to keep occupied while they are recuperating.

We usually tailor gift baskets to a person's likes when we do them at work. And different people chip in different things, so they end up sort of eclectic.
But popular things are gift cards (maybe for take out so she doesn't have to cook? and amazon is always good), a comfy blanket, a funny book, maybe a movie, their favorite snacks or drinks, coloring books, etc.
